il y en a une paire qui ferait bien de se reformer avant qu'ils nous manquent definitivement

Au sujet de Richard Wright, nombre de radios lui rendaient hommage aujourd'hui, notamment ma préférée, Classic 21. Une radio belge qui vaut le détour.
Entre autres ils ont diffusé le très beau morceau de 14 minutes "Shine on you crazy Diamond", un pur morceau!!!

Je l'ai écouté hier soir pour lui rendre un sincerre hommage ! :(

Comme je viens de découvrir ce topic, mon FLOYD préféré est le tout premier"The Piper at the gates of dawn", dont la version collector sortie l' an dernier est indispensable.
Le génie flippé de Barrett y est omniprésent,et je pense que c' est le disque psychédélique par excellence.

Bien d'accord avec toi , et si tu aimes ce genre d'ambiances et de sonorités tu dois absolument écouter 13th Floor Elevator et Chocolate watchband , 2 fantastiques groupes d' "époque"!

Je te conseille le monumental "OK Computer" de RADIOHEAD (1997), c'est un album, beau, glacial, lyrique, angoissant ,déchirant, constamment inventif avec des sons assez incroyables, sans utiliser de synthés, chef d' oeuvre absolu.

Ok Computer est un chef-d'oeuvre et malheureusement l'apogée d'un groupe qui s'est depuis maintenant plus de dix ans enlisé dans des productions ElectroMelancolicoBobo ....
Leur crise d'inspiration est telle qu'il y a aujourd'hui peu d'espoir de les voir revenir à leur niveau d'antan....

L'album à découvrir de Chocolate c'est celui-là!

Merci, magnifique pochett! d' accord pour "OK Computer", le groupe n' est pas près de sortir un skeud pareil de sitôt.. c' est le gene d' ovni musical qui arrive tous les 20 ans,RADIOHEAD est parti dans un trip progressif incohérent et a oublié ce que c' était de composer des vraies chansons..quel dommage!

J'ai jamais aimé Ok Computer ! Suis je normal ? C'est sans idées (bonnes idées) et un peu un remix du Velvet Underground version ennuyeuse et sans gout. Radiohead est pour une énorme supercherie, un gag, une histoire drôle, un sketshe. Comme Pink Floyd depuis The Wall (inclu).

Je ne suis pas trop fan non plus .

There could be more live collaborations between Roger Waters and David Gilmour.

Following their surprise on stage reunion last weekend, in aid of the Hoping Foundation, Waters has said this might not be a one-off.

Writing on his Facebook page, the former Pink Floyd leader said the idea for the get together a week ago came from Gilmour (a big supporter of the Hoping Foundation), and that he had taken some persuading to do it. After Gilmour suggested they do the Teddy Bears’ classic To Know Him Is To Love Him, at first Waters felt that this might be beyond his capabilities:

“Some weeks passed with David cajoling me from time to time, telling me how easy it would be, but I clung resolutely to my fear of failure until one day he made one final entreaty. I quote, ‘If you do To Know Him Is To Love Him for The Hoping Foundation Gig, I’ll come and do C. Numb on one of your Wall shows”. Well! You could have knocked me down with a feather. How fucking cool! I was blown away. How could I refuse such an offer. I couldn’t, there was no way. Generosity trumped fear. And so explaining that I would probably be shite, but if he didn’t mind I didn’t, I agreed and the rest is history. We did it, and it was fucking great. End of story. Or possibly beginning.”

The bassist/vocalist got together in July with guitarist David Gilmour recently for a charity show. Now Waters has told Rolling Stone: “Things have gotten better since [Live 8] between David and I. We don’t see each other socially – he very much lives in the middle of the countryside in England, and I very much live in Manhattan, so our paths don’t cross, but, when we end up being in England, we’ll probably have dinner… [and] there’s no fussing and fighting going on. David and Nick[Mason, drums] and I might do a one-off [show] somewhere, but there’s no way we’re going to do a tour… [Maybe] like a Live 8 but probably just with us. It’s such a shame that we didn’t get around to it before Rick [Wright, keyboards] died”.

Le batteur de Pink Floyd, Nick Mason, espère que le groupe pourra rejouer sur scène dans le futur.
Sur BBC 6Music, Mason ajoute qu'il ne pense pas possible que le groupe parte en tournée, mais a bon espoir de retrouver ses camarades sur scène pour 'la bonne cause'.
"Je vis dans l'espoir que l'on puisse jouer ensemble à nouveau," "mais il est peu probable que l'on parte en tournée."
Le dernier concert de Pink Floyd remonte au Live 8 à Hyde Park, Londres en 2005..

Le journal du rock vous l’avait annoncé il y a déjà plusieurs mois, lors de la tournée événementielle The Wall de Roger Waters, David Gilmour a promis d’être présent sur scène à un des concerts de cette tournée. Les deux amis-ennemis s’étant réconciliés.

Il était légitime de penser que cette « réunion » se ferait à Londres où les deux ex de Pink Floyd résident. Finalement non, mais ce sera proche de leurs terres, David Gilmour a décidé de participer au troisième concert de Waters en Belgique qui aura lieu le 29 juin, date symbolique pour le bassiste de Pink Floyd, en remplacement du concert de Manchester qui est lui annulé.

Roger Waters qui a appris que la ville de Mons avait été choisie pour être la capitale 2015 de la culture en Europe a décidé lui aussi de la choisir pour y faire ce concert de prestige avec son ami David Gilmour. Le show qui sera acoustique est prévu donc le 29 juin dans l’auditorium Abel Dubois.

Une grande campagne de réédition du catalogue de PINK FLOYD va être lancée à dater du 26 septembre 2011.

Ces rééditions complètes des enregistrements remasterisés vont inclure beaucoup d'inédits en provenance des archives du groupe et des box-sets collector. PINK FLOYD et EMI Music, dont l'association remonte à 1967, ont annoncé un programme de sorties incluant CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, SACD, une série de formats digitals, des Applis iPhone Apps, ainsi qu'un tout nouveau 'Best Of' CD simple intitulé "A Foot In The Door"

En ce qui concerne le Floyd, The Wall m'a toujours gonflé et je me suis toujours demandé ce qu'on pouvait lui trouver de génial tant la musique est grandiloquente voire même prétentieuse (cela va de pair avec la personnalité du sieur Waters), exceptés peut-être Comfortably Numb et Another Brick In The Wall part 2. Un album comme Animals bien moins médiatisé recèle, à mon humble avis, de bien meilleurs morceaux comme Sheep, Dogs ou même Pigs On The Wing. Ceci dit, les shows de la tournée 80, notamment à l'Earl's Court furent, selon l'avis général, de grands concerts tant par la mise en scène déployée que par les prestations délivrées.

Pink Floyd are to have The Wall reissued in special editions on February 28.

It will be made available in Immersion and Experience editions, and is the last instalment in the Why Pink Floyd series of re-releases and expanded versions.

The Wall Immersion is a seven-disc set. It includes a DVD featuring a film clip from the 1980 tour and a Behind The Wall
documentary. There are also CDs with excerpts from Roger Waters’
original demos, and work-in-progress versions of songs on the final
album. Among these previously unheard versions are David Gilmour’s
original demos of Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell. It also has The Wall Live, compiled from the 1980-1981 original tour.

In addition, there will be also be a vinyl version of The Wall put out on the same day. This is a 180g double album in a gatefold sleeve.
