Damn Yankees Ponder New Record
13th March 2009
Damn Yankees are considering reuniting for a new album, according to their bassist.
The
US rock supergroup, who’s last album was 1992’s Don’t Tread, have been
talking about reuniting this month to record their long awaited follow
up.
Bassist Jack Blades, who also plays in Night Ranger, told Rockpages.gr that the quartet had some unfinished business.
“Rockpages.gr: Jack, you wrote some material for a third Damn Yankees album that was never released. What happened?
“Jack
Blades: Yeah, we recorded that record and quite frankly the label was
pushing us to make this album and it just didn’t turn out the way we
wanted it. We were using the wrong producer…everything was wrong. So,
we decided not to release it because our hearts and souls weren’t into
this.
“Certain songs have turned up on Tommy’s record; on my
record…like “Shine On” was a song that Tommy and I wrote for the third
Damn Yankees record. Ted also used some stuff for his solo
album…but…there is talk of getting back together in March 2009 to
record another Damn Yankees album!”
