Le groupe recevra à Berlin le 21 mars prochain l'ILAA (International Lifetime Achievement Award) un genre de récompense célébrant leur carrière. Ce seront Jimmy Page et John Paul Jones qui assisteront à l'évènement pour retirer ce prix. Robert Plant ne pourra s'y rendre puisqu'il a un concert prévu ce soir-là à Singapour :

LED ZEPPELIN will receive the inaugural International Lifetime Achievement Award at the ECHO awards in Berlin, Germany on March 21.

Guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will accept the award on behalf of the band. Singer Robert Plant is unable to attend the event since he has a concert scheduled the same night in Singapore.

Robert Plant has teased fans by hinting that he might be open to a Led Zeppelin reunion in 2014.

And he says the band were over several years before the death of John Bonham brought their career to an end in 1980.

Followers believed more tours and even new music might be on the cards when Led Zep played a one-off show featuring Jason Bonham in 2007, released last year as Celebration Day. But the singer refused to take part, leaving Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones to return to their own musical careers.

However, Plant insists he’s not entirely responsible for the band’s lack of activity. He tells Australia’s 60 Minutes: “The two other guys are Capricorns. They don’t say a word. They’re quite contained in their own worlds and they leave it to me… I’m not the bad guy.

“You need to see the Capricorns – I’ve got nothing to do in 2014.”

He lost five-year-old son Karac in 1977 while Led Zep were on tour and the tragedy led him to plan a career beyond the band until Bonham coerced him into coming back. “I was very sceptical about thinking about whether I had the right to be a parent and go back into that world,” says the singer. “When I lost our boy I applied to see if I could get a role as a teacher. I wanted to be around, a way to enjoy children at the peak of the time before they’re spoilt by the ways of our world.

“I always thought, ‘There’s another thing I can do.’ I was detached. I’d left it. But it’s a terrible drug being a good singer.

“John Bonham came round in a six-door limousine that he could barely get down the country lane. He had a chauffeur’s hat. He’d sit in the front and I’d be three doors back. He’d talk to me through the intercom – and we were only going to the pub. He’d say, ‘Come on, Percy, you know you can do it, you know you’ll have a great time,’ And so, back I went.”

But even in 1977 Plant believed Led Zep had had their day. “We explored lot of music in those days,” he reflects. “But by the time Bonzo drew me back in, it was over anyway. We’d done what we had to do. The world had changed. Other people had arrived and it was the beginning of a whole new movement. It was like we’d lost the keys to the kingdom.”

Après son passage dans l'émission ''60 minutes'' en Australie, le chanteur Robert Plant a annoncé qu'il était ouvert à une réunion entre les membres du groupe pour 2014.

''Je n'ai rien à faire en 2014'' déclare-t-il à l'émission australienne. Ce qui laisse à nouveau entrevoir la possibilité d'une re-formation.

En décembre 2007, leur unique et dernier concert en date à l'O2 Arena de Londres fut une réelle réussite - il avait suscité une demande de 20 millions de tickets - malgré cela le chanteur avait refusé de poursuivre avec une tournée. Depuis lors, de nombreuses discussions et déclarations avaient laissé sous-entendre - ou non - la possibilité de leur retour.

Quoi qu'il en soit on ne connait pas le sentiment des autres membres de Led Zep. Jimmy Page est actuellement en train de travailler sur la remasterisation des albums du groupe. Il a également révélé qu'il travaillait sur du matériel supplémentaire pour chacun d'eux. C'est déjà lui qui avait supervisé la sortie du DVD ''Celebration Day'', le film du concert à l'O2 Arena.

Autrement dit, il pense que ce n'est pas sérieux.

Les fans continuent de réclamer de nouveaux concerts de Led Zeppelin, alors que ça chauffe pour Plant, rendu responsable du manque d'avancée dans ce sens.

RP: "Tu sais les deux autres gars, John Paul Jones et Jimmy Page, ce sont deux Capricornes, ils restent tranquilles et ne pipent pas mot", maintient Robert. Ils se contrôlent et me laissent le rôle de faire cela."

Journaliste : "D'incarner le mauvais type".

RP : "Je ne suis pas le mauvais bougre"

Journaliste : "Et bien vous l'êtes pour tous ces fans de Led Zeppelin qui aimeraient vous entendre dire" : "Oui, nous nous reformons".

Over the years, there's been much speculation regarding the validity of Led Zeppelin's appearance at Ecole Centrale's Piston 70 - despite a review in the French magazine Best in February 1970 and a publication of the programme in the book Hexagonal Experiences. The first clue was the photographs of the gig taken by Gilles Château, which were published on the LedZeppelin.com website.
But now, more than 40 years later, there's no doubt that it really happened since this recording has been dig out! A 40 years old master tape that has never been circulated before. It must have a few glitches from times to times, but it's a miracle that it was not completely gone after all this time.
I first heard about the Châtenay-Malabry show through the website of Jean-Claude Bellamy (a former Centrale student who operated as a lighting engineer that night). Having done an engineer school myself, I always remained curious to find a copy of the show, but quickly realized it was a controversial date. But I kept believing in it, and basically always asked about it when Led Zeppelin came into the discussion. I'm finally so glad that I managed to find it and was able to restore it. Nowadays, it'd likely have just been rubbishly ripped onto mp3 and shared onto a blog as if it was an evident download. A shame because such a new Led Zep find is a very big deal. I've spent many hours on the editing just for the sake of all the fans who hoped to hear it as well. Big thanks to Gérard for digging out his tapes collection, and coming home with some of them, and of course for taping this show at the time!
So, a few words from Gérard the taper:
"The concert took place in the suburbs of Paris, it was very cold and snowing. I went there with four friends. One of them became famous later in the seventies, under the nickname of Ramon Pipin when he became the founding member of bands called Au Bonheur Des Dames and Odeurs. The musical press had announced this concert hosted by the École Centrale, and of course we bought our tickets and I kept mine, numbered 1111. We were sitting on a kind of balcony above the stage located in the main hall of the building. "We had already seen Led Zeppelin in England and France. I must say that during the late sixties, we went very often to England and we saw many bands that would become successful and often in small venues. It's difficult to imagine now, for example, seeing Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett playing to an audience of just 40! "We've seen Led Zeppelin many times and the most memorable concert was the one in a pub in London. We paid 10 shillings and Led Zeppelin played for more than two hours. We were standing in front of the stage. This was one of the best concerts I've attended!!"
