Roy Khan , le chanteur , quitte le groupe.

There have been a lot of speculations around why I am not touring with Kamelot and I want to make a statement although it may not prevent further guessing as to what's actually going on. It is a fact however that I told the guys in the band already last fall (well after my burnout) that I was leaving the band. Naturally enough they were shocked (as was the label and everyone else working with Kamelot). In addition to risk of dropping ticket sales they wanted to give me time to think things over, and so I did. My decision still stands; It is finished.

I am currently spending time with my family in Norway taking it easy and wondering profoundly what the future is going to bring. Communication with the outer world has been so and so, but I have had several talks with Thomas along the way although I am still called in sick. I am terribly sorry that my decision is affecting so many others and I want you to know I wish the band & associates all the best for the future and that I enjoyed every second in the spotlight. How could I not...they were nourished by the best fans in the world! I am eternally thankful for everything you and Kamelot have given me and equally sorry that it has to end here. The good news is; God was there after all...

Peut-être que pour le groupe, il était trop cher , Khan.

Enfin des nouvelles des Américains de Kamelot, quelques longs mois après le départ soudain de leur charismatique chanteur Roy Khan.

Si ce dernier n'est pas encore officiellement remplacé, on apprend d'ores et déjà que le nom de son successeur sera annoncé fin juin. Les rumeurs vont bon train, certains parlent de Fabio Lione (qui devrait donc se déboubler avec Rhapsody of Fire) ou de Tommy Karevik (le suédois du groupe Seventh Wonder), deux hommes qui ont déjà chanté avec le groupe sur scène. A moins que Simone Simons (Epica) ou Elize Ryd (Amaranth) ne surprennent tout le monde et transforment le groupe en metal à chant féminin ?

En attendant, un nouvel album est en route ! Il devrait sortir au moins de septembre et a été placé sous la houlette du très reconnu producteur allemand Sascha Paeth. Le groupe enregistre pour l'instant les parties de batterie en Floride.

KAMELOT a sorti son nouvel album, "The Shadow Theory", le 6 Avril 2018 !!! via Napalm Records, détails ci-dessus  et la video pour le titre MindFall Remedy ci-dessous.

Par ailleurs 3 dates à Paris Toulouse et Lyon cet automne, places dispos ici ou ici pour Toulouse.

Après une longue attente, les titans du heavy symphonique moderne, Kamelot, ont annoncé la sortie prochaine de leur album le plus introspectif, édifiant et vital à ce jour leur premier album complet en cinq ans, The Awakening, qui est disponible depuis le 17 mars via Napalm Records.

KAMELOT a dévoilé un tout nouveau clip vidéo pour l’un des singles préférés des fans, “Eventide”. Le clip montre les membres du groupe en marionnettistes dans un château dépassant notre imagination, et présente une scène sombre et gothique d’un amour perdu.

The Awakening s’inscrit dans l’héritage de Kamelot comme leur offre la plus massive et la plus diversifiée à ce jour, mélangeant les styles symphonique, gothique, mélodique, progressif et power metal tout en produisant certains des morceaux les plus lourds de l’histoire du groupe.
