«Jules s'est battu jusqu'au bout, comme il l'a toujours fait, mais hier, sa bataille a pris fin», écrit la famille du pilote de F1 dans un communiqué. Jules Bianchi, qui était dans le coma depuis son accident au Grand Prix de F1 du Japon en octobre, est mort vendredi soir à l'âge de 25 ans au Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) de Nice, ont annoncé samedi matin ses proches, ajoutant: «Nous ressentons une peine immense et indescriptible».

Keyboard player and singer Eddie Hardin has died suddenly at the age of just 66. Eddie’s connections with the Deep Purple scene spanned some 45 years, and he worked with members of the group directly across much of that time. After a spell as a teenager replacing Steve Winwood in the Spencer Davis Group with Ray Fenwick (not an easy task) they did some interesting if often overlooked work in the late Sixties for Vertigo. After a couple of album, Eddie went off to form what seems an unlikely drum / keyboard duo, Hardin – York, with drummer Pete York in 1969. They became one of the most successful bands in Germany during the early 1970s and also supported Deep Purple on a couple of tours (check out the poster for a big 1970 German festival below), both joining Jon Lord and Ian Paice at occasional jam nights in London (while Pete joined forces with Ian on drum duels at some live Hardin – York shows).
Eddie got bored repeating himself musically, and despite playing stadiums in Europe, back in the UK Hardin – York couldn’t get arrested. So after a couple of years he went off to do his own thing and Roger Glover worked with Eddie on a couple of his post-Hardin – York solo albums and the pair were heavily involved in the original Wizard’s Convention studio project in 1976, along with Jon, David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes. Eddie became a big contributor to Roger’s Butterfly Ball project too, co-writing Love Is All and performing on the album (mainly keyboards but also vocals on one track), then playing keyboards at the one-off Albert Hall concert where I first saw him live.
It was a nice touch to see Eddie invited to be part of the fabulous Deep Purple Concerto evenings at the Royal Albert Hall in 1999 when he and Roger did Love Is All, along with Ronnie Dio and Mickey Lee Soule.

Le généticien et militant de gauche Albert Jacquard est décédé mercredi 11 septembre au soir à son domicile parisien à l'âge de 87 ans, a annoncé jeudi son fils.

Ce polytechnicien, né le 23 décembre 1925, a été emporté par une forme de leucémie, a-t-il été précisé. Nombreux seront ceux à lui rendre un dernier hommage. Et pour cause, Albert Jacquard était bien plus qu'un simple chercheur. Président d'honneur de l'association Droit au logement (DAL), Albert Jacquard était aussi écrivain, philosophe, bref un homme engagé dans tous les sens du terme.

Moses Malone, trois fois MVP de la NBA, champion NBA en 1983 et intégré au Hall of Fame de la ligue nord-américaine en 2001, est décédé dimanche à l'âge de 60 ans. Le pivot de 2,08m avait passé l'essentiel de sa carrière chez les Houston Rockets et les Philadelphie Sixers. En 20 ans de carrière, il avait joué pour huit franchises (20,6 pts, 12,2 rbds de moyenne). Drafté en 1976 par les Portland Trailblazers, il avait mis un terme à sa carrière en 1995 après une dernière saison chez les San Antonio Spurs.

L'ancien bassiste des Damned, Byrn Merrick a perdu son combat contre le crabe à l'âge de 56 ans :

Bassist Bryn passes away at 56 after cancer battle

Former Damned bassist Byrn Merrick has died at the age of 56 after a battle with cancer.

He was a member of the band from 1984 until 1989, appearing on two albums including 1985’s Phantasmagoria – their best-selling title.

He passed away in hospital in Cardiff.

Guitarist Captain Sensible, who wasn’t with the band during Merrick’s tenure, said: “What a character he was. I didn't see as much of him as my colleagues, but I've heard many funny stories about the lovable rogue over the years.

“Like the time he wandered into a pub across the road from the band’s American hotel, asking if they ‘had any fags about the place’. Of course it was a gay bar. There's loads more – car theft, prison spells, and all the rest of it – truly, there was never a dull moment with our Mr Merrick.”

Sensible spoke to Merrick last week after hearing the bassist didn’t have long to live. “I called on Thursday, letting him know he was much loved in Damned circles and thanking him for his important part in the band’s history. But hearing the news that he'd died just before we hit the stage at Chicago Riot Fest was still a real shocker.

“Our set was thus dedicated to the great man, just before we played his fave song, Ignite. Bryn liked the fast stuff – it was the way he lived his life.”

Allez hop, ça continue........   C'est au tour de l'ancien guitariste de REO Speedwagon, Gary Richrath. La cause du décès n'a pas été communiquée.

Former REO Speedwagon guitarist Gary Richrath has died at the age of 65.

Frontman Kevin Cronin has confirmed his former colleague’s passing via Facebook.

He says: "I feel so sad. Gary was both a unique guitarist and songwriter, and the embodiment of the tough guy with a heart of gold. I learned most of what I know about being in a rock band from Gary Richrath.

”The entire REO Family mourns his death and shares in the grief of his family, friends, and fans. These words do not come close to expressing the depth of emotions I am feeling at this time."

Richrath played with REO from 1970 through to 1989 and wrote a number roof their hit including Take It On The Run. He released a solo album called Only The Strong Survive in 1992 and reunited briefly with REO in 2013 for a show to raise money for families affected by a tornado that hit Illinois.

Tim Fiers, the drummer in Richrath's solo band, says: "I'm so proud and thankful I was able to play music with Gary Richrath. It was an honour to call him a friend and bandmate. In my opinion, one of the greatest guitarists the state of Illinois has ever produced. My deepest condolences to Justine Richrath and Gary's family."

After the first rehearsal for our upcoming tour of Australia, Kiddie suddenly felt unwell which continued throughout the night, and the next day he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
He was a fantastic Dad, husband, son, friend, but to us he was always ‘Kiddie’, the same 17 year old Coventry kid whose drumming style and personality blew us away when he first walked into our rehearsal room 20+ years ago.
Kiddie enriched our lives, and the Bolt Thrower sound. He leaves a massive hole in the lives of everyone who knew him and will be very sorely missed by many.

Jean-Loup Lafont anime le hit-parade sur Europe 1 au début des années 70.

Il présente ensuite les émissions "Mozik" (1972), "Maxi-Parade" (1976), "Basket" (1977).

Puis on le retrouve à la télé: il présente "Blue Jeans" en 1978 sur Antenne 2, "C'est super!" en 1983 sur TF1, "Kazkado" en 1988 sur A2 et le tiercé en 1991 sur La Cinq.

Par ailleurs, il joue en 1979 dans le film "Le temps des vacances".

On lui doit aussi un disque souple de présentation du club "Dial", enregistré en 1984, en duo avec Françoise Rivière, qui fut elle-même présentatrice sur Europe 1.(Source biographie: que sont-ils devenus )
