On annonce un énorme coffret le 7 novembre qui contient donc les "classic albums" du groupe. Il contiendra de plus les Live At Reading '79 et '80 ainsi qu'un DVD et un livre de 90 pages :

Whitesnake are to have a box set released on November 7. And they’re also playing live at the end of the year.

Titled Box O’Snakes: The Sunburst Years 1978-1982, the box has every studio and live album from the period, two previously unreleased BBC concerts, a limited edition seven inch, a DVD and a 90-page book with new interview and unseen photos.

Don’t expect any touring activity from Whitesnake in 2012.

The band’s official website has revealed that the band will spend much of theyear mixing live recordings, and also editing live footage for a possible DVD. As for a new studio album, that still remains up in the air, although the ‘Snake
could well work on new songs.

In addition, various members of the band will be working on other projects.

L'ère Moody/Marsden est incontournable.

C'était déjà plus Mardsen, mais restait Moody.

Mel Galley avait donc intégré leurs rangs.

Bon, le projet d'album live à la fois en cd et en DVD mais vendus séparément, est toujours dans l'air du temps. N'oublions pas non plus les "expanded versions" de Restless Heart et d'Into The Light. Le Cov précise qu'un nouvel album studio est pour le moment hors de question.

This past spring, Whitesnake announced plans to spend 2012 in the studio, mixing live recordings made during their 2011 Forevermore World Tour, including the production of a live in-concert DVD from the trek.

Whitesnake leader David Coverdale checks in with an update:

"We are busily mixing and editing a live album and a separate in-concert DVD from the 'Forevermore' world tour, plus mixing an special expanded editions of 'Into The Light' and 'Restless Heart'. Plus archiving so much audio and visual material and content from so many years. But [we're] definitely not [working on] a whole new studio album at this time. Quite simply we wouldn't have time to write and record a new studio album. It was never on our agenda for 2012."

A l'heure où son ainée Madonna justement vient de se faire huer pour avoir fait l'un des concerts les plus courts de l'histoire à l'Olympia, Lady Gaga continue de s'illustrer avec les métalleux, au tour du beau blond guitariste de Whitesnake de céder à la Lady ?

Selon son fan site PropaGaga, le guitariste Doug Aldrich de WHITESNAKE / ex-DIO est allé en studio avec la superstar de la pop le mardi 24Juillet . La collaboration musicale, qui devrait paraître sur le prochain album de Lady Gaga, est supposée avoir eu lieu à Los Angeles.

Gaga a déjà travaillé avec Le guitariste de Queen Brian May sur son dernier album, "Born This Way", sur la piste "You and I", qui a été produit par le légendaire producteur Robert John «Mutt» Lange ( Def Leppard et AC / DC).

Lady Gaga en Janvier a révélé qu'elle était une grande fan de Def Leppard, indiquant que sa propre musique est influencée par les rockers britanniques. Elle a déclaré au Sun: «Avec ma musique, il ya beaucoup de points communs avec DEF LEPPARD avec des mélodies dans les chœurs, mais c'est de la musique de danse électronique. Je dirais que c'est l'avant-garde du rock techno."

Elle a ajouté, "Il ya beaucoup d'influences du rock sur l'album mais ce n'est pas de la musique rock. Il s'agit d'une exploration de la musique électronique et des chansons techno, mais j'ai créé un genre de métal / Dance / Techno / rock / pop avec un grand nombre de chœurs, hymne, parce que c'est effectivement la musique que j'aime. Une fan Lindy Butcher tente un procès au conseil municipal de Newport au Pays de Galles prétextant qu'elle a raté le début du concert du groupe à cause d'une glissade sur.............................................du vomi. Sa chute lui aurait provoqué des ecchymoses et une forte douleur au niveau des genoux et des côtes.

Le conseil municipal de Newport a rapporté qu'ils avaient fait tout ce qu'ils pouvaient pour éviter cette catastrophe (Note De Phil : "ah oui, on peut empêcher quelqu'un de déguueuler ???). Il est apparu que la présence de vomi avait été signalée au personnel par des spectateurs. Un des barmen a fait appeler un homme d'entretien. Ceci dit, toute la partie bar était très affairée. N'ayant aucune précision concernant l'endroit exact du vomi et devant faire face à une importance au bar, il était difficile de situer immédiatement le vomi. (NDP : j'imagine très bien les spectateurs piétiner la zone en question...)

Finalement, Lindy Butcher a été remboursée après avoir été nettoyée avec du désinfectant.

If you just had a meal you might want to wait a few minutes before checking this story out. A Whitesnake fan is suing the Newport (Wales) council after claiming to have missed the beginning of one of the band’s gigs. Why? Because she slipped over vomit.

As Lindy Butcher told the South Wales Argus, “It was horrifying, you don’t expect to fall in someone’s vomit.” Oh boy… no, you do not. The show was at the Loft Bar in Newport Leisure Central this past December (2011). As a result of the fall Butcher claims to have suffered bruising and soreness to both of her knees, as well as muscle spasms between her ribs.

The Newport council says they did what they could to prevent this night-ruining event. “It would appear the presence of vomit was reported to staff by a member of the public. One of the bar staff tried to call for a cleaner. However, it was extremely busy in the bar and cafe areas. In the absence of any detail concerning the actual whereabouts of the vomit and with so many people in the bars, it was difficult to pinpoint immediately where the vomit was located.”

To the venue’s credit, Butcher’s tickets were promptly reimbursed — after, of course, she was aided and cleaned with disinfectant. Perhaps next time out she’d be better off buying Whitesnake’s upcoming ‘Forevermore’ concert DVD when it comes out. After all, it’s doubtful there will be any strange regurgitation laying around in the confines of her own home.

David Coverdale will be featured in a new documentary A Passion for the Vine produced by Zan Media in Novato, California. NovatoPatch has some of the backstory:

This is not the hard rock man from the videos I have watched online. This man embraces the entire room with warm eyes, kissing everyone on both cheeks, dropping hysterical one liners three times faster than Jay Leno in his most shining moment — all with Richard Burton’s voice. David Coverdale could charm a cloistered nun to sin in a New York minute.

Brian Tichy, le batteur a annoncé qu'il quittait le groupe pour poursuivre le projet Sun avec la guitariste Sass Jordan. Ceci dit, le bassiste-chanteur de Whitesnake, Michael Devin, impliqué dans le projet Sun, compte rester au sein de Whitesnake. Le groupe s'est mis en quête d'un nouveau batteur et selon un porte-parole du Serpent Blanc, cela n'affecte en rien la tournée 2013.

Whitesnake regret to announce that powerhouse drummer, Brian Tichy, has told David Coverdale this morning he is leaving the band to pursue the SUN project he started with gifted singer/guitarist Sass Jordan. Bassist & singer, Michael Devin, also a participant in SUN, will remain with Whitesnake.

Coverdale said: “We are truly sad to see him go, but, we fully support the pursuit of his ambitions & sincerely wish him well. His fearless drumming brought a relentless driving edge & to our music that we fully embraced. Good Luck, Brian...May the SUN shine brightly on you!!”

Whitesnake have begun the search for a new drummer. There are several musicians already being considered.

A spokesman for the band said that this will not affect the forthcoming tour dates for 2013.
