Le 16 octobre, Europe sort un CD/DVD/Blu-ray live du concert donné au Sweden Rock afin de célébrer ses 30 ans d'existence. Composé de 28 titres, ce DVD présente également des invités tels que Scott Gorham et Michael Schenker venus se joindre à la fête.

This concert which was captured at Sweden Rock Festival 7th of June 2013 is not only a massive greatest hits show in front of 30,000 people, it also marks the 30th anniversary of the bands existence. They celebrate this by playing 28 songs spanning their whole career including songs never before performed.

Between the heavy rock songs they also sit down for an emotional accoustic set which brings a unique intimate feel to this otherwise massive arena show.

To pay tribute to their own heroes they invite legendary guests artists Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy) and Michael Schenker (UFO, MSG) to join them on stage.

The band has made nothing short of a remarkable return since they started up again in 2004. Their latest album BAG OF BONES was awarded the 16th best rockalbum in the world by the prestigious Classic Rock Magazine in 2012.

Together with the four latest CD releases to come out this side of the millennium and the five albums they produced in the eighties and nineties. They sit on an enormous song treasure.

The DVD Includes songs like:
Seven doors hotel, Open Tour heart, Rock The Night, Carrie, Superstitious, Prisoners in Paradise. Always the pretenders, Last look at Eden, New love in town, Not supposed to sing the blues, Firebox, Lights out (with Michael Schenker), Jailbreak (with Scott Gorham) and many more.

EUROPE SIGNS WITH UDR RECORDS

German-based label delighted to announce signing of Swedish rock legends

Swedish rock group Europe have signed with UDR Records for the release of their as-yet-untitled forthcoming album in early March 2015. The recording commences this month in Stockholm.

Europe’s front man Joey Tempest “We’re really excited to be working with the people at UDR. A very credible label and I am impressed with their work building a future and a solid foundation for their Artists”

UDR President/owner Ulrike Rudolph expressed her delight in capturing the band for the label.
“We are always looking to expand the label’s stable of bands with quality, not quantity, and Europe represent the finest in supremely written hard rock music,” said Rudolph. “They are a group who refuse to rest on their past and continue to grow as artists and musicians, so we are absolutely delighted they have come to us.”

Production on the new material will be handled by Dave Cobb (Rival Sons).
“He is one of few producers out there who is saving rock ‘n’ roll,” said Joey Tempest, “when we first heard Pressure and Time by Rival Sons, we just went ‘who the hell produced this stuff? It’s got tons of heart and soul, it’s cocky, it’s got that swagger, it’s alive and real.’ That’s the journey we’re on with Europe, trying to dig deeper to find more soulful expressions and play straight from the core! So we’re extremely excited to bring this guy into our team.”

EUROPE 10th ALBUM "WAR OF KINGS" - OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE BY UDR RECORDS.
Swedish rock legends Europe will release their 10th album, "War of Kings", in March 2015 on UDR Records. Recorded at the brand new PanGaia Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, produced by Dave Cobb (Rival Sons) and engineered by John Netti, War of Kings sees the classic rocking quintet confidently creating 11 monsterously melodic, yet hard-hitting, classic rock’n’roll standouts for their fervent global audience. War of Kings will be available in multiple formats, as a CD digipak, a CD jewel case, a vinyl LP and in digital download format. The album will be released in the UK on March 2nd, Japan on March 4th (via JVC), the EU on March 6th and the US on March 10th.

Joey Tempest: “War Of Kings is the album we always wanted to make, ever since we were kids listening to bands like Zeppelin, Purple and Sabbath.
And after hearing Dave Cobb amazing production for Rival Sons we simply had to work with him. Our adventure is still ON!”
Europe’s place as a legendary classic rock band was platinum-stamped early in their career, having enjoyed an explosive period of worldwide success in the ‘80s, under-pinned by their hit album and single The Final Countdown, before going on hiatus between 1992 and 2003. They re-united and quickly settled into a period of re-establishment which has seen them re-enforce their reputation worldwide as one of the premier purveyors of blues-tinged classic rock with an edge and some kick. Their last album, 2012’s Bag of Bones, saw Europe hit the UK top 40 rock album charts and debut at #2 on the Swedish national charts, and War of Kings is set to take full advantage of the global groundwork Europe have put in over the last few years.
Joey adds “Hey! We took the long road! but we wanted to re-establish Europe the proper way. It’s taken 10 years and countless tours since the re-union, but we’re finally getting there! And we’ve done it our way!”
Europe will commence their roadwork supporting War of Kings with a UK/Ireland tour in Dublin on March 2nd (their first visit to Ireland in 25 years) before continuing in the UK with Black Star Riders.

EUROPE apparait avec son hit intemporel "The Final Countdown" dans une drôle de publicité Geico où un employé de bureau fait chauffer son burrito dans le micro-ondes. Les videos ci-dessous.

C'était fin 1981, début 1982. Joey Tempest était étudiant dans sa Suède natale quand il a utilisé un clavier emprunté pour composer le refrain qui allait un jour faire de lui une star.

"Je l'ai écrit tard dans la nuit, j'ai sorti le clavier, et je l'ai enregistré," Tempest raconte à Geico.com à propos de l'introduction instantanément reconnaissable de "The Final Countdown".

In 1986, Sweden’s biggest Hard Rock act EUROPE released their milestone album The Final Countdown. The album went on to worldwide success and continues to be a mainstay in playlists all over the world. 2016 sees this iconic album turn 30 years old.

To celebrate that special anniversary, the band will be staging a series of very special concerts.

For the first time ever, these shows will feature The Final Countdown album played in it’s entirety. The band will also be performing hits spanning their musical career.

Joey Tempest explains, “With a catalog of songs as big as ours, it is hard to devote so much of the set list to one album. But this anniversary is special and we want to give the fans what they have asked for. The whole band is proud and excited to play the whole album from start to finish, especially as this, our third album, made it possible for us to fulfil our dream to become an international touring band.

To make it extra special we will try and play songs from War Of Kings and other albums we haven't played before and at the same time we want to design a show that will be majestic and memorable for all of us.

Whilst always venturing forward, Europe have had a great couple of years.

Last year they won a prestigious Classic Rock Award at London’s Roundhouse and a people’s choice award in Sweden called Rockbjornen and have been touring in support of their critically acclaimed 2015 release, War Of Kings produced by Grammy winner Dave Cobb (Rival Sons)

Just before these special Final Countdown shows, the band will head back into the studio to record a follow up to War of Kings with an eye to a release date in April 2017. The album, as yet untitled, will have an extensive tour schedule to support the release, endeavoring to take in territories not visited in some time.

C'est dommage, ils étaient au Hellfest l'année dernière. Je ne les verrais toujours pas sur scène.

C'est en octobre que sortira le nouvel album de EUROPE. C' est en tout cas ce qui est annoncé sur la page Facebook du groupe.

Le 21 juillet sortira un nouveau DVD "The Final Countdown 30th Anniversary Show – Live At The Roundhouse”. Un concert filmé le 12 novembre 2016 au Roundhouse de Londres.



Formats disponibles : DVD/2CDs, Blu Ray/2CDs, Format digital, plus un coffret limité à 1000 exemplaires contenant: le Blu Ray, 2 CDs, 2 LPs, un livre de 40 pages, un laissez-passer stratifié, un foulard.

Sur le LP, il n'y aura que l'interprétation de l'album The Final Countdown. Sinon, le groupe est en train de travailler sur le successeur de War Of Kings.

Europe’s sell-out show at The Roundhouse in London last autumn is being released as a live DVD.

Filmed at their 12th November 2016 gig by Patric Ullaeus from rEvolver Film Company AB, the Venus voyaging Swedish rockers’ DVD is aptly titled ‘The Final Countdown 30th Anniversary Show - Live At The Roundhouse’ and is released as a limited edition globally on Friday 21st July.

As well as performing their defining 1986 album from start to finish, the evening started with Joey Tempest and co. playing their 2015 record ‘War of Kings’ in its unadulterated entirety.

Joey enthuses: “What an awesome night! It was more enjoyable than we thought to revisit the whole Final Countdown album live!

“On top of that, to be able to share our whole War Of Kings album with this amazing audience the same night just made this show one of the most memorable nights of our career!”

The DVD is available in the following formats:

• DVD/2CD – full concert on all discs (1 visual, 2 audio) packaged in an 8 panel CD-sized digipack, including a 24 pg booklet
• BluRay/2CD – full concert on all discs (1 visual, 2 audio) packaged in an 8 panel CD-sized digipack, including a 24 pg booklet
• A Digital audio only release
• A 12” sized Boxset, limited to 1,000 units will also be available in September.
It will contain the BluRay/2CD configuration, a double gatefold vinyl with only The Final Countdown portion of the concert, a 40 pg 12” sized hardcover photo book, a vintage replica scarf and a laminate/guest-pass.

Europe are currently working on the follow-up to 2015’s ‘War of Kings’ at London’s world-famous Abbey Road Studios.
