RUSH: Beyond the
Lighted Stage - Premieres on VH1/VH1 Classic, June 26

This world premiere gives a comprehensive exploration of the history of
legendary Canadian power trio Rush - from their early days growing up in
Toronto, through each of their landmark albums, to the present day.
With a career spanning four decades, RUSH (Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and
Neal Peart) is one of the most successful bands in the history of
popular music, but despite their remarkable career achievements, they
have never been critics' darlings. Directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn
interview the band's admirers and contemporaries, including Gene
Simmons, Billy Corgan, Sebastian Bach, Jack Black, and others and also
deliver rare backstage and concert footage.

L'information est à prendre avec des pincettes, mais il se murmure ici
et là que Rush pourrait bien, dix-huit ans après son dernier passage
lors de la tournée Roll the Bones, poser ses valises dans l'Hexagone, et
plus précisément au Palais Omnisports de Bercy à Paris. Dans le cadre
de la tournée Time Machine, le trio canadien rejoue l'intégralité de son
mythique album Moving Pictures. Il devrait également interpréter deux
nouveaux titres dont « Caravan » qui suscite déjà de nombreuses
interrogations depuis que son nom a été dévoilé par Geddy Lee.

Bon là , je regarde le DVD Beyond The Lighted Stage. Les premières séquences sont émouvantes car l'on voit des films de famille présentant notamment Geddy Lee et Alex Lifeson enfants. Ensuite , il est composé de séquences live entrecoupées de documents sur l'ascension du groupe. Absolument superbe.

Rush nominé aux Classic Rock Awards dans la catégorie Living Legends. Le DVD Beyond The Lighted Stage est aussi nominé dans la catégorie des meilleurs films.

Classic Rock has today announced that Rush will be honoured with the ‘Living Legend’ award at this year’s Marshall Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards in association with Currencies.co.uk.

Rush will fly in to London to collect the award on November 10, with Alice Cooper hosting the event at London’s Roundhouse venue.

The awards event will also see live performances for the first time in its six-year history, from Alter Bridge, Cheap Trick and The Union.

The Classic Rock ‘Living Legend’ award is bestowed on a rock act for their enduring influence and remarkable achievements in the world of rock music.

As one of rock’s most influential bands, Rush will be joining an illustrious list of previous legendary recipients such as Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmy Page, Alice Cooper and Lemmy.

Rush’s Beyond The Lighted Stage is also nominated for DVD/Film Of The Year, along with The Doors, The Runaways, Oil City Confidential and Saxon.

Rush bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee said: “We are thrilled to receive the ‘Living Legend’ award from Classic Rock. It’s much better than the alternative! Seriously, we are humbled and very appreciative.”

Scott Rowley, Editor-in-Chief of Classic Rock, added: “Ridiculously, Rush haven’t yet been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame – so it’s an honour to recognise their massive contribution to rock music at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour.”

The nominations for the 2010 Marshall Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards in association with Currencies.co.uk were announced earlier this year with AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine, Slash and Kiss all battling it out with multiple nominations.

Classic Rock is delighted to be presenting a special Rush night on November 8.

This happens at the Cineworld in Haymarket, London, starting at 6pm. Not only will the acclaimed documentary Beyond The Lighted Stage be screened, but this is to be followed a special question and answer session with Rush bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee, hosted by Classic Rock’s own Phil Wilding.

Now, tickets cost £10 from http://www.cineworld.co.uk/. They go on sale from November 1. But we are giving away 10 pairs. Details of how you can enter the competition will be posted here on Monday, November 1.

Vapor Trails bénéficiera d'un nouveau mix.

Rush are planning to totally remix their 2002 album Vapor Trails.

Talking exclusively to Classic Rock, guitarist Alex Lifeson revealed: “We were never happy with the production.
Perhaps we should have taken more time over the record.
But now we’ve got the chance to improve things. There will be no re-recording, just a remix”.

The band's Canadian management company is looking at booking a high profile festival slot for summer 2012. Rush have been approached by the organisers of High Voltage to headline next year's Victoria Park Festival. And although the newest rock festival on the block would suit the Toronto trio to a tee there is understandable interest from the UK's big two - Download and Sonisphere. Rush are not known as a festival band but plans are at an advanced stage to book a series of one-off shows next summer. And organisers of the major events in the UK and Europe are lining up to bag what would be the star attraction of the 2012 festival circuit. ...

TIME MACHINE le live enregistré à Cleveland en avril 2011, sort le 8 novembre en DVD / Blu-Ray / double CD

Parallèlement au nouvel album Clockwork Angels sortira un roman qui s'inspirera de cet album :

There’s to be a novel based on the new Rush album.

Like the album this will be called Clockwork Angels, and is to be written by sci fi author Kevin J. Anderson. This is what he says about the project on his Facebook page:

“Most of you are aware of my long-standing friendship with Neil
Peart, the drummer and lyricist from the legendary rock band Rush, as
well as how much Rush has influenced my work. My first novel, Resurrection, Inc., was closely inspired by the Rush album Grace Under Pressure, and I can point to dozens of other novels and stories that bear a clear Rush influence.

“For morethan 20 years, Neil and I have wanted to collaborate on
something MAJOR, a way we could tie together our imaginations, and at
last that’s happening.

“I’m writing the novelization of Rush’s forthcoming album, Clockwork Angels, their first new CD in five years. Imagine if someone had written the novel of The Wall, Tommy, or Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band when those classic albums were released. For Rush fans, Clockwork Angels is that project.

“I worked together with Neil to flesh out the epic story told over
the course of the music, as well as the artist Hugh Syme, whose
paintings fill the CD booklet. In a young man’s quest to follow his
dreams, he is caught between the grandiose forces of order and chaos. He
travels across a lavish and colourful world of steampunk and alchemy,
with lost cities, pirates, anarchists, exotic carnivals, and a rigid
Watchmaker who imposes precision on every aspect of daily life.

“To whet your appetite, Rush released the first two tracks, Caravan and BU2B. Listen to those songs to get an idea of the story’s beginning.
“I’m writing the chapters now, incorporating the lyrics into the
narrative, and having a fantastic time. More details to come, but for
now-to quote a line from Caravan: ‘I can’t stop thinking big’.”

experiencing. It stems from a production flaw and it is currently being
addressed. As soon as production is completed a formal announcement of
