Histoire de savoir ce qui s'est passé jour après jour dans la carrière du groupe :

Le 11 mai 1974, Led Zeppelin a assisté à un concert du King au Forum de Los Angeles. Après un début de concert un peu bancal voire même hésitant, Elvis a tout arrêté en s'adressant au groupe qui l'accompagnait : "Attendez une minute, et si nous nous synchronisions, les p'tits gars parce que nous avons Led Zeppelin dans l'assistance. Essayons de nous montrer sous notre meilleur jour."

Après le show, les quatre membres de Led Zeppelin rencontrèrent Elvis en coulisses pendant deux heures. Elvis en a profité pour demander des autographes pour sa fille Lisa Marie.

11th May 1974, Led Zeppelin attended a Elvis Presley show at the Los Angeles Forum in California. After a shaky start to the show, Elvis stopped the band and jokingly said: ‘Wait a minute, if we can start together fellas, because we’ve got Led Zeppelin out there, lets try to look like we know what we're doing.’ All four members of Zeppelin met with Elvis after the show, spending over 2 hours backstage. 13 et 14 mai 1973 : deux fabuleux concerts furent donnés respectivement à Mobile dans l'Alabama et à La Nouvelle Orléans. A noter que les boots existent.

Il y a 25 ans jour pour jour, le Zep se reformait pour célébrer les 40 ans d'Atlantic Records.

Il y a 38 ans, le groupe donnait son dernier concert d'une série de cinq à l'Earl's court.

Le 29 mai 1970, Jimmy Page enregistrait Hey Hey What Can I Do avec le groupe aux Olympic Studios (le numéro 2 pour être précis). C'est quoi un limiteur ?

Le 31 mai 1973, le groupe se trouve pour les 25 printemps de John Bonham au L.A Forum pour un concert qui deviendra mythique et qui sera immortalisé par le célèbre bootleg Bonzo's Birthday Party. S'ensuivra une fête qui brillera par sa débauche.

Il y a 33 ans, réunion au sommet du label Swan Song à l'Intercontinental Hotel à Cologne :

Le 24 mai 1969, le groupe fut sollicité pour participer aux fameuses John Peel Sessions à Maida Vale et ce, dans le but d'assurer la promotion du II.

'Whole Lotta Love' / 'What Is and What Should Never Be' / 'Communication Breakdown' / 'Travelling Riverside Blues'

We recorded this show at Maida Vale studio to promote 'Led Zeppelin II'. In typical Led Zeppelin tradition 'Travelling Riverside Blues' was made up on the spot from a riff I had on the electric twelve string. We had reached a point at the BBC where you could overdub a solo over the initial track of the song. This helped a lot to give a more complete rendition of our material and I must say the BBC engineer Tony Wilson did a really good job for us on this day. The BBC producer was John Walters.~JP

Le 18 juillet 1970, le groupe se trouvait à Francfort (une date prise entre Essen et Berlin) pour y donner un concert devant un public composé de militaires compte tenu de la proximité de bases militaires américaines. Une rumeur a longuement circulé selon laquelle Elvis aurait assisté à l'un de ces shows allemands. Le public aurait été particulièrement attentif durant ce show qui fut, selon John Bonham, "formidable" puisqu'il permit de permit de présenter certains titres acoustiques.

During the 1970 Led Zeppelin tour of Europe, sandwiched between Essen and Berlin, I played Frankfurt with Led Zeppelin with its close proximity to US military bases. The audience always had a strong showing of those servicemen and women. Elvis Presley had been stationed at Friedberg whilst in the army and it's rumoured that Elvis himself attended some shows in Frankfurt back in the day - it's highly probable that we played 'Frankfurt Special' that evening in the rock 'n' roll medley during 'Whole Lotta Love' to pay tribute to both Elvis, Frankfurt, and G.I. Blues. If we didn't play it that time, I think we played it every other time we played Frankfurt!~JP

Le 26 juillet 1969, le groupe se produisit au PNE Agronome de Vancouver avec Vanilla Fudge en première partie. Un échange de bons procédés puisque le Zep assura pour sa première tournée US la première partie de Vanilla Fudge en 1968.

It was always good to play with Vanilla Fudge, we had supported them on our first tour of the States in 1968 and it was good to reciprocate.

The Vanilla Fudge had played one date in London at the Palladium Theatre in 1967. I missed this show, but I remember everyone talking about this amazing group, their drummer Carmine Appice and, especially, their sound system. They were always an exciting band to listen to. Their debut album had made a massive impression on musicians at that time.~JP

I PLAYED MADISON SQUARE GARDEN WITH LED ZEPPELIN

On the 27th July 1973, we began the recording process for what was to become 'The Song Remains the Same'. The film director for the project was Joe Massot who, with his film crew, had been to Baltimore and Pittsburgh two dates before New York and I hoped that they had become familiar with our shows rather than experience a baptism by fire at the run of shows at this wonderful concert arena. The sound recording was done with a mobile recording studio, courtesy of Bearsville Sound and Eddie Kramer handled the engineering on this and subsequent evenings. I knew this was going to be epic over the next few days.

Dernier concert au MSG mais aussi de la tournée 73. Juste avant de monter sur scène, Jimmy a appris que le coffre où se trouvait la recette de la veille, avait été dérobé au Drake Hotel.

LED ZEPPELIN PLAY THE LAST NIGHT OF MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

This was the final night of our American tour and here at Madison Square Garden recording and filming the concert. I was informed as we were on the side stage just before going on to perform that there had been a robbery at the Drake Hotel where the safety deposit box had been relieved of cash the previous night. Somehow all this manifested in even more passion in that night's performance.~JP

After another strenuous and frustrating episode at the Canadian border, we had come from San Francisco to Vancouver to play a psychedelic bonanza at the Kerrisdale Arena on this day and at the Garden Auditorum on the 1st. At this time, the Yardbirds album 'Little Games' had been released for about a week. The music featured here is the home recording on 12-string acoustic guitar and auto-harp of 'Only The Black Rose' from the 'Little Games' album. ~JP

Led Zeppelin donnait le 11 août 1979 à Knebworth son dernier concert britannique (exceptée la reformation de 2007) :

LED ZEPPELIN PLAYED TEXAS INTERNATIONAL POP FESTIVAL WITH LED ZEPPELIN
Festivals were starting to become well established in the US and the Texas Pop Festival offered a substantial bill of performing artists. I watched Sam & Dave perform and hung out with Janis Joplin, whom I had hung out with at Steve Paul's Scene Club in New York in the Yardbird days. Led Zeppelin played a good set on this day.
