JUDAS PRIEST

Ca y est c'est officiel depuis quelques jours Judas Priest sera à Paris Zenith le 21 mars 2009 en compagnie de Megadeth et Testament... Début des locations depuis hier sur BILLETERIE GDP(allez sur la colonne de gauche , cliquez sur "concert a paris" et faire défiler puis réservé en ligne) et à partir du 27 octobre pour tous les points de vente habituels.
A noter que la dernière prestation du Priest en France avec Rob Halford date de mars 1991 et que le concert plus récent date de 2002 avec Tim "The Ripper" Owens.

Judas Priest will shortly be releasing a LIVE ALBUM consisting of eleven tracks - all previously unreleased in a live version!

The album is due out in JULY 2009 and will be entitled:

JUDAS PRIEST - A TOUCH OF EVIL - LIVE

All of the tracks were recorded throughout the JUDAS PRIEST WORLD TOURS in 2005 and 2008

As the creators of a live release that is
considered to be one of the all-time great concert recordings in the
realm of heavy metal (1979’s ‘Unleashed in the East’), whenever Judas
Priest announce a new live album, metalheads worldwide instantly take
note. And on ‘A Touch of Evil: Live’ (due for release in July 2009 via
Sony Music and Epic Records), the mighty Priest - which includes singer
Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and KK Downing, bassist Ian Hill,
and drummer Scott Travis - doesn’t disappoint. Focusing primarily on
fan-revered album cuts (all previously unreleased in live form on CD),
‘A Touch of Evil: Live’ features absolutely scintillating renditions of
such Priest gems as “Riding on the Wind,” “Beyond the Realms of Death,”
“Dissident Aggressor,” “A Touch of Evil,” “Eat Me Alive,” and the
set-closing “Painkiller.” Also of note are the first live album
appearances of standouts from Priest’s critically acclaimed 2008
concept double disc, ‘Nostradamus’ (“Death” and “Prophecy”).

Recorded
by Martin Walker and Brian Thorene during the Judas Priest’s mammoth
2005 and 2008 world tours, ‘A Touch of Evil: Live’ also marks the first
Priest album that producer Tom Allom has worked on since 1988
(co-producing along with the band). It was such Allom-produced albums
as the aforementioned ‘Unleashed in the East,’ as well as ‘British
Steel’ and ‘Screaming for Vengeance’ (among others) that made Priest
not only one of the premier metal acts, but one of the leading global
rock acts. As heard throughout ‘A Touch of Evil: Live,’ Priest remain a
must-see live act…and a must-hear one, as well.

It is with regret that Judas Priest announce that K.K. DOWNING has formally retired from the band and will therefore not be joining them on their forthcoming EPITAPH Tour.

The band respect his decision and naturally all wish him well.

Dear friends,

It is with much regret that I will not be with you this summer. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your concerns about my health. Please rest assured that I am O.K.

There has been an ongoing breakdown in working relationship between myself, elements of the band, and the band's management for some time.

Therefore I have decided to step down rather than to tour with negative sentiments as I feel that this would be a deception to you, our cherished fans.

However I would urge you to please support the Priest as I have no doubt that it will be a show not to be missed.

C'est avec un profond regret que je ne serais pas parmi vous cet été. Merci du fond du coeur pour votre inquiétude quant à mon état de santé, soyez sans crainte, je vais très bien.
Il s'est produit un clash professionnel au sein du groupe entre certains membres du groupe et moi-même ainsi qu'avec le management.
J'ai donc décidé de me retirer plutôt que de faire la tournée animé par de mauvais sentiments qui gâcheraient votre plaisir, vous nos fans adorés.
Cependant je vous prie d'apporter tout votre soutien au Priest et à sa tournée pour lequel il ne fait aucun doute vous ne devez râter.

EXCLUSIVITE MONDIALE : INTERVIEW DE JUDAS PRIEST !

Ce jeudi 21 avril, Rob Halford, chanteur de Judas Priest, a accordé à Rock Hard sa toute première interview depuis l'annonce surprise du départ de K.K. Downing, après plus de 41 ans de bons et loyaux services.



Voici quelques extraits de cet entretien exclusif, conduit par notre journaliste-spécialiste Benji, que vous retrouverez en intégralité dans le prochain numéro de Rock Hard, en kiosque aux alentours du 9 mai.



« K.K. a quitté le groupe de son propre chef, pour les raisons qu'il a lui-même divulguées sur son site web (Note : Sur http://www.kkdowning.net/, le guitariste rassure quant à son état de santé et évoque une détérioration grandissante de ses rapports avec des « éléments » du groupe, ainsi qu'avec le management de celui-ci, et ce depuis quelque temps...). Nous avions vraiment passé d'excellents moments tous ensemble pendant la tournée Nostradamus... Mais K.K. vit sa vie et nous ne pouvons le contraindre à faire ce qu'il n'a pas envie de faire. Il nous a fait connaître sa décision juste avant Noël. A ce moment, à titre personnel, j'ai cru que cela pouvait signifier la fin... Sur le plan émotionnel, ça a été très, très difficile à vivre... Quand il nous a annoncé qu'il souhaitait prendre sa retraite, Glenn (Tipton) a été le premier à lui envoyer un e-mail pour lui dire : "Ken, j'espère que tu vas bien. Si tu as besoin de quoi que ce soit, dis-le moi". La porte est tout le temps restée grande ouverte, au cas où Ken changerait d'avis. Mais le temps était compté... »



Au sujet du remplaçant de K.K. Downing sur les futurs concerts du groupe, Rob Halford a déclaré ceci : « K.K. ne pourra jamais être remplacé. Il est unique ! Nous ne voulions pas d'un clone. Richie Faulkner (Note : guitariste britannique qui a joué avec Deeds, Voodoo Six ou encore Lauren Harris) est allé jammer chez Glenn et après cette session, il m'a tout simplement dit : "Richie est absolument génial !" »



Judas Priest se produira en France, dans le cadre de la tournée Epitaph, le 19 juin au Hellfest, à Clisson, le 20 juin au Zénith de Paris (Première partie : Duff McKagan's Loaded) et le 7 août à la Foire aux Vins de Colmar.

Merde, je risque de decouvrir Judas sur scène, sans l'un de ses deux gratteux historiques.

Surtout que le groupe était au courant depuis Noël.

Comme quoi,il n'y a pas que Trust pour faire des surprises au Hellfest.

Premier essai live avec le nouveau guitariste Richie Faulkner lors de l'émission American Idol où le groupe interprète Living After Midnight enchainé à Breaking The Law.

En fait, Judas va continuer, mais avec des musiciens plus jeunes.

A quand Judas Priest ou autres groupes de ce style dans nos emissions musicales françaises?
Je crois qu'il n'y a que Scorpions qui ai été invité dans la Star Ac' pour faire Stll loving you et un autre slow.

Le 11 octobre 2011, Sony/Legacy sortira "The Chosen Few", une nouvelle compilation de JUDAS PRIEST qui présente une méthode d'élaboration originale : quelques-uns des plus grands noms du hard rock/heavy metal world ont choisi leur titre préféré du groupe. Le résultat donne un tracklisting très intéressant, puisque le livret inclura les explications de chaque artiste à propos de leur sélection.

Une date a été planifiée à l'Hammersmith Apollo le 26 mai prochain en compagnie notamment de Saxon.

Judas Priest are coming to London in the spring.

The metal gods will play Hammersmith Apollo on Saturday, May 26. Tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday, January 13.

This is at the end of a European tour, Whether any other British
dates are added remains to be seen. Support comes from Saxon and Cobra
& The Lotus.

Ian Hill a pensé quitter le groupe suite au moment du départ de KK Downing :

Judas Priest bassist Ian Hill has considered following guitarist KK Downing into retirement – and the band’s last remaining founding member says he’d give them his blessing if they went on without him.

Downing’s departure came as a bombshell to fans when it was announced last April, four months after he’d made his decision. Priest brought in Richie Faulkner as his replacement and announced their current world tour would be their last.

But Hill confirms there’s more to from from the heavy metal pioneers – and admits he’ll always miss Downing.

He tells Metal Rules: “He was a huge part of the band. He was a huge character. We’re still friends so when we get time we’ll bump into each other and see how things are going.

“But from a musical point of view Richie is handling everything he played, and he’s adding his own flavours. The fans won’t miss that much musically.”

The bassist says his ex-bandmate’s decision to retire caused him to think along similar lines – but like many musicians from his era, the idea frightened him. “I thought of not doing it, not playing,” he reports.

“It terrifies all of us, I think. Many bands are probably thinking, ‘Well, this is it, this will be the last tour,’ and within a year or two they start missing it all. I’m sure we’d be the same. If we said, ‘We are not going to play after this,’ within six months we’ll already be on the phone.”

Priest say their current world tour is the last one of its size for them – but there’s a new album in the pipeline followed by a certain amount of continued live action.

“There’s less physical work in an album then there is on tour,” Hill reflects. “It takes you away from home for months, sometimes years on end when you tour and that’s basically what’s getting to us at the moment. We’ve been doing it now for forty years and it’s time to spend a bit of time at home, and of course records you can do at home.”

But if the time should come for him to retire, he’ll have no problem if his bandmates want to continue: “We’re doing fine without Ken. We did fine without Rob Halford, you know. I’m sure the band will do fine without me. If I don’t continue and they want to carry on, of course, yeah.”

There’s no chance of Priest considering carrying on their band name as a franchise, even though Kiss have discussed the possibility for some time and Rickey Medlocke recently formed a band under his Blackfoot name consisting entirely of brand-new members.

Hill states: “Kiss are talking about farming it out, franchising it – but I don’t think the fans will put up with it, not for a second.”
