MessageSujet: Re: QUEEN   QUEEN - Page 8 EmptyVen 10 Juin - 21:55

Between February 1973 and October 1977, Queen recorded six sessions for the BBC – twenty four new and alternative recordings spanning four albums.

They revisited nineteen different songs in all: My Fairy King (the first Queen song ever to be broadcast on radio), Liar, Son And Daughter, Doing All Right, Great King Rat, Modern Times Rock’n’Roll, Ogre Battle, Nevermore, White Queen, See What A Fool I’ve Been (a song that never appeared on any Queen studio album), Now I’m Here, Stone Cold Crazy, Flick Of The Wrist, Tenement Funster, Spread Your Wings, My Melancholy Blues, It’s Late, the only known studio recording of their dramatically different full-band ‘fast’ arrangement of We Will Rock You and the song that became their very first single Keep Yourself Alive.

All six sessions have been remastered and feature here together for the very first time.

Deluxe lift off lid 3-piece cigarette style box and 36 page booklet.

Queen + Adam Lambert – Live in Japan” will be released in Japan on December 20th, 2016. This multi-format release captures the band’s headliner performance that took place on 17th August 2014 at Marine Stadium, the main stage of Japan’s largest rock festival, “Summer Sonic” in its entirety.

The combination of Queen’s long and legendary standing with the young talent of Adam Lambert made for an unforgettable show. The stadium was filled to the brim with fans eager to see the first live show of Queen + Adam Lambert performing together on stage in Japan. The show itself, preluded by “Procession”, opened with “Now I’m Here”, and what followed was a performance of hit after hit, such as “Another One Bites The Dust”, “Killer Queen”, “Under Pressure”, “I Was Born To Love You”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “We Are The Champions”. Another highlight of the night was the performance of “Teo Toriatte (Let Us Cling Together)”, a song written by Brian May especially for the Japanese fans and includes Japanese lyrics.

Even in 2016, two years since that show, Brian May recalls “We all thought it was quite a difficult gig. The audience was wonderful but it was so hot and so humid, it was very difficult to play, but when we saw the video, we thought that it was great and the interaction with the crowd was great”. Adam Lambert also recalls: “The Japanese audience was so passionate, so emotional. You could feel the connection. And it’s different than in other countries; there is something very special there”. Roger Taylor also adds “The audience reaction was fantastic, and it was such a young audience, which was a big surprise for us”.

Since that summer of 2014, Queen + Adam Lambert have once again earned much critical acclaim from Japanese media and fans alike with their live performances, having successfully wrapped up a three-night run at Nippon Budokan in September 2016.

“Queen + Adam Lambert – Live in Japan”, released exclusively in Japan in various formats, will surely be yet another memorable release for the Japanese fans who wish to experience and relive such a special night.

Message de Brian May :

We’re very sad today to announce the indefinite postponement of our ‘candlelight’ concert dates this coming December. This is a decision I’ve agonized over, but in the end it has become inevitable. I managed to complete the recent Queen and Adam Lambert dates in Asia but I have been increasingly battling with a persistent illness which is destroying my energy and my will. I am now at the point where I don’t feel confident to perform the scheduled shows to the standard we all expect. I’ve been strongly advised to rest and heal, rather than go out and risk ‘falling down on the job’ out there, which would be a real tragedy. I’m convinced it’s much better taking the step to cancel the dates now, refunding the fans for the ticket sales, and giving all our team a chance to re-plan their time in December.

Sincere apologies to all.

18th April 2017
Press Release: Queen + Adam Lambert Announce UK and European Tour!

QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT TO ROCK UK & IRELAND LATE 2017 AS PART OF 25-DATE EUROPEAN TOUR WITH NEW STATE-OF-THE ART SHOW

11-City UK & Ireland Arena Tour kicks off on 25th November in Dublin

Pre-sales begin Wednesday 19th April at 10.00 am

Tickets on general sale, Friday 21st April at 10.00 am

***Pre-sale links for QueenOnline Subscribers, The Queen Fan Club and Adam Lambert Fan Club will be sent shortly.***

London – 18th April, 2017. Just weeks after announcing a 26-date summer tour of North America, Queen + Adam Lambert today revealed further live plans for 2017 which will now see the band return to Europe later this year for a series of 24 dates including 12 arena concerts in the UK and Ireland. The tour will showcase a spectacular new stage production and a set list that the band hints will provide some surprises.

Queen + Adam Lambert’s 11-city UK and Ireland tour will kick off in Dublin on 25th November. They perform in Belfast in Northern Ireland the following day, then reach mainland Britain on 28th November to play Liverpool’s Echo Arena. More dates follow in Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester, climaxing with two huge London shows at the O2 Arena on 12th December and The SSE Arena, Wembley, on 15th December. Tickets will be on general sale from Friday 21st April, with pre-sales starting two days earlier, Wednesday 19th April. The tour is presented by Phil McIntyre Entertainments.

These shows will mark the band’s first full British tour in almost three years, having last performed across the UK in January 2015 when they played 10 sold out shows. Their only UK appearance in 2016 was a one-off headlining set at the closing night of the Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday 12th June, part of a 15-date European summer festival tour. Isle of Wight festival organizer John Giddings credited the band with “the greatest show we have ever had”.

For their 2017 tour, the band will unveil a brand new show including a specially designed state-of-the-art production. The choice of performance material will no doubt acknowledge this year’s 40th anniversary of Queen’s biggest-selling studio album to date, News of the World from 1977, which yielded the immortal anthems “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions”.

Queen drummer and co-founder Roger Taylor insists the 2017 tour “will look entirely different to the show we took around before. Production has really changed a lot, the things you can do now, you have a much broader palette, the technology has really come along. But we don’t use it all. We don’t play to click track. It’s 100% live. We're planning on doing stuff we either haven't done before or haven't done for a long time. We started as an albums band, that's what we were. The fact that we had hits was just a byproduct.”

Guitarist Brian May confirms Queen’s 2017 shows will have a more ambitious musical agenda. “The general public knows the hits, so you've got to cater for that,” he says, “but we can chuck in a few things that people really don't expect. We’ll do quite a bit more of that this time around. There are so many dimensions to Adam, which of course fits with our music. He can get down and do the rock stuff really dirty, and you have all those dimensions, and we can explore that even more.”

Adam Lambert welcomes the challenge of digging deeper into the band’s canon of classics. “What people should know if they came to the shows a couple of years back, is obviously we will still be playing the big hit songs you know and love from Queen, but we thought it would be good to challenge ourselves a bit,” he explains. “Change it up a little bit, change the visuals, change all the technology, change the set list to some degree. We will probably be pulling some other songs out of the Queen catalogue which we haven’t done before, which I am very excited about.”

Tickets will go on general sale beginning Friday 21st April at 10AM local time through local agents.

The long-in-the-works Queen biopic is “finally happening,” according to a new post on the band’s official website.

The project has been around in some form or another for over 10 years now, and late last year, after first Sacha Baron Cohen and then Ben Whishaw departed the film due to creative differences, Mr. Robot star Rami Malek was cast as Freddie Mercury.

According to Queen’s Roger Taylor and Brian May, who are serving as executive music producers, “Rami has great presence and he’s utterly dedicated to the project. He’s completely living and breathing Freddie already, which is wonderful.”

Rami Malek attends the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on September 18, 2016, in Los Angeles.

Ca sort le 17 novembre !!!!!!!!

Press Release: News Of The World - 40th Anniversary Edition

Queen’s new heavyweight multi-format ‘NEWS OF THE WORLD’ deluxe package includes unique ‘RAW SESSIONS’ CD - newly created ‘alternative’ version of original album!
Set for release 17th November 2017.

A special box set of Queen's landmark 1977 album News of the World is set for release towards the end of this year, marking the 40th anniversary of the original release. This lavish new package has a worldwide release date of November 17th. The box set is available to pre-order now at https://queen.lnk.to/NOTW40.

The 40th anniversary is also marked with the release of a special limited edition picture disc album. Newly cut from the Bob Ludwig 2011 master, this picture disc version will be available in a strictly limited run of 1977 individually numbered copies housed in a commemorative die-cut sleeve. This version will only be available through pre-order from the official Queenonline webstore. http://www.queenonlinestore.com

Originally launched in October 1977, News of the World is one of Queen's biggest selling albums of all time. It opens with two of the band's most indestructible worldwide hits, the Brian May-penned We Will Rock You and Freddie Mercury's We Are The Champions, monumental stadium anthems which remain a staple of major sporting events all around the world to this day. With songs written by all four band members, NOTW, Queen's sixth album, set a new standard in stylistic diversity, from Roger Taylor’s proto-punk blast of Sheer Heart Attack to the salacious funk-rock groove workout Get Down Make Love, to the fragrant tropical calypso-pop Who Needs You. News of the World also features the hit Spread Your Wings, the epic rock saga It’s Late and Freddie’s wistfully romantic My Melancholy Blues.

The new package includes the original album on CD, plus two further CDs of recently unearthed out-takes and rarities from the band's archives, one of which is a newly created ‘alternative’ version of the whole album – Raw Sessions.

For many Queen devotees, this Raw Sessions CD will be the most intriguing component of the new release. Mined deep from long-vaulted studio multi-track tapes, this extraordinary parallel album brings to light never-before-heard alternative versions of each of the album’s 11 tracks. Every lead vocal is different, as are most of the lead guitar parts and a great many other instrumental details. Here we experience We Are The Champions anew, with many unfamiliar vocal and instrumental elements, and for the first time at its full-recorded length rather than the edited 1977 album cut. Here also is the chance to discover peak era Freddie Mercury vocals on a track that nobody outside Queen’s inner circle has heard him sing before at all – Brian May’s All Dead, All Dead. The original album version features May himself on vocals. Roger Taylor’s Sheer Heart Attack can be heard with its original long-lost guitar intro and uncut ending. Taylor’s other song, Fight From The Inside, is more remarkable in that we hear his demo vocal worked on in his home studio in preparation for the next sessions, ‘homework’ that all of the band members would regularly carry out. As a point of note, Taylor plays all instruments on these two recordings, except for some lead guitar. In this age of digital leaks and obsessive fan culture, there is already great excitement that these recordings are, in 2017, truly New to the World.

The third CD in the package, Bonus Tracks, features a feast of previously released but hard-to-find versions of News of the World tracks recorded in concert, for radio shows, or in alternate mixes. Included is the band's entire five-song final live session recorded for BBC Radio in October 1977, seven live performances of NOTW songs, plus rare backing tracks and instrumentals of the Queen classics We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Spread Your Wings, Get Down, Make Love and Fight From The Inside. Also on this third disc is the seldom-heard US radio edit of It's Late, making its belated CD debut, and the rowdy stomper Feelings Feelings, which was recorded during the original NOTW sessions but not included on the final album.

Another outstanding feature of this weighty 40th anniversary box is another first – a pure analogue re-cut of the original vinyl LP, direct from the unmastered analogue master mix tapes. This exceptional album collector’s piece is presented in a facsimile original sleeve. There is also a rich selection of NOTW related memorabilia including three posters and a 60-page book of images, mostly previously unseen.

The package is completed with a brand new one-hour DVD documentary, Queen : The American Dream, created from backstage material filmed during Queen’s 1977 USA News of the World tour. In November that year, Queen embarked on another headlining US tour. The highly respected British radio and TV presenter Bob Harris, complete with full film crew, followed their journey as part of a proposed documentary that has remained incomplete and unreleased – until now. The crew had unlimited access to the band on and off stage, in the recording studio and during rehearsals. This one-hour documentary includes superb live footage of Queen at the Houston Summit in December. We also see moments from the birth of We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions, songs that would both earn a place in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Queen : The American Dream is a fascinating behind-the-scenes insight into a young British band at a creative peak, defying the odds as they take the USA by storm.

For casual fans and Queen connoisseurs alike, the new NOTW package, with its feast of extra material, is manna from Heaven - a bumper haul of buried treasure from a world-beating band in its prime.
