Live Here Now at Westonbirt
Quo's show at Westonbirt on Sunday June 22nd will be recorded by a company called Live Here Now and a 2xCD souvenir live album will be available for purchase at the gig within minutes of the show finishing.
The recording & mix is excellent quality; mixed from individual splits taken from the band & mixed in a dedicated truck by a team of audio experts. The CDs are then packaged in standard CD boxes complete with full colour artwork.
The double CD set will cost £15.00 on the night, £15.00 plus postage and packing for mail orders and will also be available for download a day or so after the gig priced at £10.

Sujet: Re: STATUS QUO Sam 16 Oct - 19:14
Voici en détail ce qui devrait sortir le 26 octobre :
The unique relationship with those two great British institutions, Status Quo and the BBC is celebrated on "Status Quo Live At The BBC" which is issued by UMC on 24 October 2010. The release will be available on a range of formats: 2CD 'best of' collection / DVD / 4CD box set and a limited edition collectors' 8 disc complete set [see over for full tracklisting]. Status Quo's unbelievable career has largely been built upon their unassailable reputation as one of the world's greatest live acts and it is that prowess and power that underlies this collection.
This release is collated from all of the BBC owned Quo recordings that still exist in the archive and charts the inexorable rise of the band: from the first steps made as The Spectres, the brief incarnation as Traffic Jam and then the glory days as the mighty Status Quo. The BBC gave the band a platform and support at crucial stages in their career and thus "Status Quo Live At The BBC" should be seen essentially as an alternate Greatest Hits, a musical growing up in public.
Francis Rossi said, "We've done so much with the BBC over the years that a release such as this truly charts the history and evolution of the band. It's wonderful that these recordings have been collected and presented this way." Rick Parfitt added, "The relationship with the BBC has not always been a smooth one but a release like this shows how important they are in supporting and celebrating music in this country. John Coghlan commented, "There's no doubt that the Beeb played a big part in getting Status Quo off the ground, and I'm just as excited by this anthology as the fans will be. It's about time it came out."
This incredible archive represents the last great unreleased set of recordings in the Quo catalogue. The collection has been brought together by trawling the BBC archives, but also by inviting contributions from fans. The BBC had a habit of wiping tapes after they were broadcast which has meant that some of the Corporation's output has been lost for ever. However thanks to fans recording broadcasts at home a couple of gems have been reclaimed here for this set.
Sessions for shows hosted by the likes of David Symonds, Dave Lee Travis, Steve Wright, Ken Bruce and more are included here, as are live performances such as the legendary and much-bootlegged Paris Theatre set from 1973, and shows in Wembley, Birmingham and Brighton. Classic performances and, of course, classic tracks: this collection brings together everything of real significance from the psychedelic styling of'Pictures Of Matchstick Men' to the true Rock thumpers of the 70s to the tracks that made the band a household name, 'Rockin All Over The World', 'Caroline', 'In The Army Now', the list goes on.
Fully supported and endorsed by the band - the current line up but also the original incarnation of Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan - "Status Quo Live At The BBC" is a triumphant collection of the defining moments of a truly seminal British rock act, as witnessed, broadcast and archived by the voice of the nation, the BBC. A set to be treasured.

Status Quo are delighted to announce that their brand new studio album “Quid Pro Quo” will be released on 2CD exclusively through Tesco on 30 May 2011. The album boasts 14 brand new tracks plus the 2010 version of “In The Army Now” and is packaged with a second disc the “Official Bootleg – Greatest Hits Live” making this serious value for money. The “Official Bootleg” was recorded in Amsterdam and Melbourne last year and offers 10 classics, including “Down Down”, “Whatever You Want” and “Caroline”. This is the first new Quo studio album for four years since “In Search of the Fourth Chord”. The band’s last album was their 29th to reach the Top 20 putting them ahead of The Beatles – and they hope to continue their incredible success with “Quid Pro Quo”.
Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt commented, “In many ways this release is another example of Quo teaming up with a great British institution. Following our innovative pairings with Coronation Street and the Armed Forces, it seems only natural to now team up with the institution that is Britain’s biggest high street retailer. We are really proud of the new songs and wanted to make sure that the album got to as many people as possible, working with Tesco achieves that aim.” So proud are the band of the new material that they are making one track available for free download from www.statusquo.co.uk and www.facebook.com/StatusQuoOfficial. Anyone will be able to download “Rock ’n’ Roll ’n’ You” from 0900 on Wednesday 20 April.
A limited run of 1000 deluxe box sets will be available worldwide, 500 exclusively from statusquo.co.uk. The sets will comprise a vinyl album in a gatefold sleeve, the 2CD version featuring special artwork and 2 extra live tracks, a Quo poster, individually numbered “Quo Quid” banknote, a T-shirt and a set of badges [unavailable elsewhere]. The sets will retail at £50.
Featuring a host of songs that fit gloriously into the Quo canon, “Quid Pro Quo” was produced by long-term Quo associate Mike Paxman. The hit-making team of Francis Rossi / Bob Young are on stunning form with “Better Than That” and “The Winner” being instant classics, and Rick Parfitt weighs in with a couple of standout tracks, notably “Let’s Rock” and “Reality Cheque”.
“Quid Pro Quo” is the result of one of Britain’s greatest ever musical acts hitting their stride once more. Material from this album will be performed on the soon-to-be-announced UK tour and the band cannot wait. By turning in what many believe to be their best material in decades, and teaming up with Tesco to get it to the fans, “Quid Pro Quo” seems certain to maintain the band’s incredible trajectory.

Le Quo originel se reforme !!!!!!!!!
Francis Rossi has confirmed speculation that the original lineup of Status Quo are getting back together.
He, Rick Parfitt, bassist Alan Lancaster and drummer John Coghlan will tour the UK and record an album next year. But the project will exist alongside the current Quo, which will also release a new record.
The reunion brings to an end decades of acrimony and reunites the outfit that finalised its classic lineup in 1967, when Parfitt joined Rossi, Lancaster, Coghlan and keyboardist Roy Lynes – who left three years later.
After some early success they released breakthrough album Piledriver in 1972 and by the middle of the decade were one of the leading lights of British rock music. They’ve sold over 128million albums worldwide to date.
Coghlan left in 1981 amid personal tensions and has since been touring with John Coghlan’s Quo. Rossi’s relationship with schoolmate Lancaster crumbled in 1985 and the bassist took the band to court over rights to the name. The case was settled privately two years later.
Earlier this year the four musicians gathered for the first time in decades during filming of band documentary Hello Quo. They had a jam session which was meant to be a one-off for the movie – but led to more discussion.
Now Rossi tells Sweden’s Nostalgia Rock’n'Roll Magazine: “We’ll do a tour and write new songs. We’ve booked a tour in Britain in March next year – eight to ten gigs or something. If we had been gone for 20 years maybe we would have been able to book all the big arenas. But we have a modern-day Quo up and running, and quite successfully too. Who knows how the old band will be perceived?”
The frontman is also concerned about Lancaster’s health. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2002. Rossi says: “Alan looks like he couldn’t do it. He’s still frail and his legs are a bit shaky, but he’s getting stronger every day. He’s lifting weights and eating himself into shape.”
Rossi offers some hints regarding their set list: “I want us to focus on the really old stuff like April, Spring, Summer And Wednesdays, which was Alan’s suggestion. We’ve decided to start the gigs with Junior’s Wailing. We’ll do 4500 Times. Maybe we’ll play Roadhouse Blues and other songs Alan used to sing. In that way it’ll feel fresh again, because we haven’t played those old songs for such a long time.”
But he’s most happy about being able to talk to his old friend again. “Alan had been misled by his attorney, who’d fooled him into believing they could sue us for £30m,” he explains. “The poor bastard has been so used. He apologised and we became friends again over a cup of coffee.
“I talked to Alan’s brother recently, a guy I thought would like to kill me. He cried over the phone. Then Alan’s cousin, a girl I used to have a crush on. I must meet Alan’s mum again. How I’ve missed those wonderful people. I mourn that I couldn’t meet his dad, who died recently, one last time. And his uncle also passed away – he was really important to me. Damn, I managed to get to 60 before I realised it. That’s life.
“So unnecessary, really, everything that went wrong. The nice thing is we can now be straight and honest with each other again.”
But Rossi thinks neither version of the band will be around for much longer. “I don’t believe we’ll play together with Alan and John for long – they won’t cope,” he says. “I don’t think Status Quo will be around much longer either. It’s increasingly difficult to cope with the energy discharge a concert requires.”

The original members of Status Quo will reunite after 25 years to celebrate the cinema release of the fly-on-the-wall documentary Hello Quo.
Hello Quo hits movie theatres across the UK for a special one-night-only screening on October 22. On that date the original band members will reunite for a simultaneous UK film premiere in London’s Leicester Square with an exclusive Q&A with the band.
Hello Quo tells the story of Status Quo’s 50 years in the business, fully supported by the band and featuring input from a host of the biggest names in rock – including Brian May of Queen, Thin Lizzy, Buzzcocks, Slade, Paul Weller and Midge Ure.
Hello Quo collects hours of previously unseen footage and classic live material with full exclusive access to all band members.
Director Alan G. Parker (Monty Python: Almost The Truth; Who Killed Nancy) said: “I’m the last director in the world to look like I was right for this project but then the same could be said of Monty Python and I love what we’ve done. I believe we’ve made a film that’s as good as the group.”
We’ve got an exclusive clip for you to watch. It tells the tale of Quo’s first big hit, the “trippy and mysterious” Pictures Of Matchstick Men.
Quo’s Francis Rossi admits: “I didn’t even know what psychedelic meant.” And Rick Parfitt adds: “The title was perfect for the time. Far out!” Watch the clip below.
Hello Quo will be available in DVD, Blu-ray and Collectors’ Edition DVD formats from October 29
