STATUS QUO

Un coffret 10 LP intitulé The Vinyl Collection 1972-1980 allant de Piledriver à Just Supposin' va sortir prochainement. Par ailleurs sortiront Rockin All Over The World remixé ainsi qu'une réédition en double CD de Hello accomagnée d'un live inédit de 1973.

Mercury records are planning to issue a Quo vinyl LP box set with 10 albums from "Piledriver" to "Just Supposin'" with the title "The Vinyl Collection 1972- 1980".
They are also planning to release the (long awaited) re-mixed "Rockin' All Over The World" album and a two CD re-issue of the "Hello" album (with a previously unissued live concert recording from 1973).

On n'imaginait pas que le Quo sortirait un jour un live acoustique. Eh bien, c'est fait. Il est vrai que cela crée une rupture avec ce que l'on a connu lors la tournée The Frantic Four et toute la ribambelle de live qui sont sortis ensuite mais bon, le groupe s'en sort avec les honneurs et ce, grâce à un public venu en masse les soutenir à la célèbre Roundhouse de Londres, nous proposant ainsi des versions originales de leurs standards comme Caroline, Don't Drive My Car, Whatever You Want, What You're Proposing, Down Down, Rockin' All Over The World (de John Fogerty), Paper Plane et Rain. Etonnant, en effet d'avoir pris ce risque. Bien évidemment, tout est loin d'être parfait car il y a des titres un peu mielleux comme Claudie. Globalement, c'est sympa mais pas indispensable. Voilà, on s'arrêtera là car "sympa" est l'adjectif qui qualifie le mieux ce nouveau live.

Je ne sais plus si je l'avais mis.

Le concert de Somerset sera l'une des dernières chances de voir le groupe après qu'ils aient révélé qu"ils rangeraient leurs guitares à la fin de l'année. Des dates seront prévues en été notamment à Taunton le 26 août. Puis, le groupe tournera en Europe en octobre pour terminer au Royaume Uni en décembre. Et là, ce sera vraiment la fin.

Status Quo's performance in Somerset this summer will be one of the last chances to see the legendary band after they revealed they will be hanging up their electric guitars at the end of the year.

The rock veterans – Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Andy Bown, John 'Rhino' Edwards and Leon Cave – will tour Europe in October, followed by UK performance dates in December, but it will be their last tour featuring their trademark electric guitars.

They also have some tour dates this summer, including a show at Vivary Park in Taunton on August 26.

Founding member Rossi, 66, said the band had been discussing hanging up their "electrics" for some time now.

Après le concert du 14 juin en Turquie Rick Parfitt a été à nouveau victime d'une crise cardiaque dans sa chambre d'hotel
Il a été réanimé sur place à l'hotel puis hospitalisé à Antalya
Il sera remplacé par Freddie Edwards à partir du 18 juin jusqu'au concert de Stockholm inclus le 3 juillet

Status Quo announce their upcoming album ‘Aquostic II – That’s A Fact!’ - out 21st October 2016




Britain’s best-loved rockers Status Quo are delighted to confirm that on 21st October 2016 they will release ‘Aquostic II – That’s A Fact!’ via earMUSIC on CD, limited edition double vinyl and Deluxe 25 Track Edition 2CD. The standard CD edition of this carefully curated collection includes 14 reimagined Quo classics such as ‘In The Army Now’, ‘Hold You Back’, ‘Roll Over Lay Down’, ‘Ice In The Sun’ and two brand new tracks. These and extra tracks are available on deluxe / vinyl, as well as another brand new song ‘Is Someone Rocking Your Heart?’. The song ‘For You’, released originally on ‘Rockin' All Over The World’, is available only on the 20 track vinyl format. The deluxe edition comes with a second disc which features 5 ‘Aquostic II’ bonus tracks as well as 6 tracks recorded at the band’s 2014 Stuttgart ‘Aquostic’ show, which are unavailable elsewhere.

‘Aquostic II – That’s A Fact!’ is the follow up to the phenomenally successful ‘Aquostic (Stripped Bare)’ album of 2014 which was a Gold-certified UK Top 5 hit, giving the band their highest chart placing for 18 years. Additionally, Quo will perform a very special one-off ‘Aquostic’ show in Hyde Park at BBC Radio 2’s ‘Festival In A Day’ on 11th September 2016. NB the album has been re-titled from the previously announced ‘Aquostic II - One More For The Road’.

With their ‘Aquostic’ initiative, after 50 years at the top of their game as one of the world’s premiere hard rock acts, Status Quo have leapt out of their comfort zone. With the band having stated that ‘The Last Night Of The Electrics Tour’ which comes to venues across Europe will be the last ever full tour featuring the thunderous Telecaster sound, it’s time to look ahead. This is the future.

The ‘Aquostic’ approach represents something of a new dawn for the band. Guitarist Rick Parfitt is currently recuperating from ongoing medical issues following a heart attack in Turkey two months ago and the band wish him a speedy and full recovery and look forward to welcoming him back into the fold.

Bon allez, vu cette affiche hier matin, en allant accompagner Maureen à la gare de Paris Bercy....

Status Quo est contraint de reporter leur concert prévu ce soir, dimanche 4 décembre 2016, au Zenith Paris - La Villette en raison d'une pharyngite du leader Francis Rossi.

Le groupe est d'abord connu pour ses tournées et ses concerts, et l'annulation n'est toujours qu'un dernier recours. A fin de se racheter vis-à-vis de son public parisien, le groupe confirme sa volonté de reporter le concert en 2017. La date sera annoncée d'ici la fin de la semaine prochaine.

Nous recommandons aux spectateurs de conserver leurs billets, en attendant que plus d'informations soient communiquées. Ceux souhaitant se faire rembourser sans attendre, peuvent le faire dès à présent dans les points de vente où les billets ont été achetés uniquement.

Francis Rossi ajoute : "Nous détestons reporter des concerts et espérons que nos fans comprendront que cette situation n'est pas de notre fait."
