56 years ago, Led Zeppelin signed with Atlantic Records! The execs at Atlantic had never seen Zeppelin (which makes sense when you consider that they had just played their first gig 2 months prior), and Ahmet Ertegun is rumored to have based his decision on a recommendation from Dusty Springfield. Jimmy Page showed up on signing day with the tapes for Zeppelin's first album, and was immediately handed a check for $200,000, an amount that was virtually unheard of at the time (approximately $1.1 million in today's dollars). Led Zeppelin I was released two months later. The rest is history!

Il y a 56 ans, Led Zeppelin avec Atlantic Records. Les patrons d'Atlantic n'avaient jamais vu Zeppelin (ce qui a du sens quand on considère le fait qu'ils avaient donné leurs deus premiers concerts deux mois auparavant). On dit d'Ahmet Ertegub qu'il a pris sa décision après été conseillé par Dusty Springfield. Jimmy Page s'est présenté le jour de la signature avec les bandes du premier album et s'est vu remettre un chèque de 200000 dollars, un montant qui n'a pas été divulgué à l'époque ce qui fait approximativement autour des 1.1 million de dollars aujourd'hui. Le led Zeppelin I est sorti deux mois plus tard. Le reste, c'est de l'histoire.
