Non seulement, je confirme la nullité de ce nom mais je persiste qu'il y avait tout de même moyen de trouver autre chose que cette appellation ridicule. Au hasard, on aurait pu trouver "The Renegades", "The Killers On The Loose" (peut-être un peu long) ou bien encore Bad Reputation et Black Rose (ce dernier étant souvent choisi par des tribute-bands).

Le groupe arrivera à Los Angeles demain et commencera à enregistrer l'album qui sortira en mai.

Allez hop, cette affaire ne va pas durer longtemps puisque le line-up originel de The Almighty a décidé de se réunir pour enregistrer de nouveaux titres :

Ricky Warwick, Stumpy Monroe, Pete Friesen and Floyd London all connected today via the technological wonders of the Internet and discussed plans for the Anniversary. The guys have decided that they want to record some new material to be released along with the reissues planned for 2013. Donc l'album dont la sortie est prévue pour mai, est prêt. Warwick affirme que tout est parfait et qu'il sonne magnifiquement bien. La basse vrombit, la batterie cartonne, les guitares déchirent et les vocaux sont excellents.

Black Star Riders – featuring former members of Thin Lizzy – have posted an update on the status of their forthcoming debut album.

“We’re at The Cave, which is [producer] Kevin Shirley’s studio,” says frontman Ricky Warwick. “He’s mixing the album and it sounds amazing … the drums are huge, the guitars rip, the bass is pounding and the vocals are great."

The band has said the album will be released at the end of May, with the first Black Star Riders live appearances happening around the same time.

After touring the past few years as Thin Lizzy, the lineup adopted the new band name to start the project with a clean slate, and out of respect to the legacy of the late Phil Lynott.

Next week, Black Star Riders tour Australia – as Thin Lizzy – as the opening act on the KISS/Motley Crue package.

About the origin of the album title, BLACK STAR RIDERS frontman Ricky Warwick states:

"I was watching a documentary about World War II bombers and saw the name painted on the side of one of the aircraft. The name just resonated with me and it seem to encapsulate the turmoil that we, as a society, are currently experiencing. The past few years have been such a wild ride and now with the release of the album, it sounded like a bad-ass album title that summed up what BLACK STAR RIDERS is all about."

Produced & mixed by the legendary Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Rush), the track listing for All Hell Breaks Loose is:

Scott Gorham dit qu'il a essayé de forcer les membres de Black Star Riders à ne pas sonner comme du Thin Lizzy alors qu'ils travaillaient sur leur premier album All Hell Breaks Loose :

Scott Gorham says he tried to force the members of Black Star Riders to avoid sounding like Thin Lizzy as they worked on their debut album All Hell Breaks Loose.

Once the decision had been made to drop Phil Lynott’s band name and use a new one, he wanted to draw a line between the two acts.

But he accepts it was a futile exercise – and he’s happy with the results of their studio efforts.

Gorham tells May The Rock Be With You: “I was constantly trying to drag everyone away from the Lizzy thing, just because I’m figuring we’re going to do a new album, new band, new sound, new everything. But you couldn’t help it.

“It’s going to sound like a Thin Lizzy album by default, just because I’m in there – because of the way I write and play and all that. Then you’ve got Ricky Warwick; the lyrics on this are just unbelievably good. Damon Johnson is a giant in this band and his writing leans towards the Lizzy side.

“So there will be shades of Thin Lizzy, absolutely. There’s a lot of harmony guitars and riffs and all that – but it’s got its own sound all at the same time.”

Frontman Warwick is relieved that he’ll no longer be too closely associated with the idea of replacing Lynott, who died in 1986. The former Almighty vocalist explains: “People always say, ‘Those are big shoes to fill and you can’t fill them.’ All I can say is that you stand beside them, and hope some of the man’s greatness rubs off on your performance.

“I can get back to being me a little more with Black Star Riders. I’m still very influence by Phil as a songwriter, lyricist, and the way he phrases stuff. We want to retain what’s great about Thin Lizzy and move it over to Black Star Riders.”

All Hell Breaks Loose is due for release via Nuclear Blast in May.
