A considérer avec précaution, connaissant les deux zoziaux : Jack et Kelly Osbourne ré-alimentent la rumeur de reformation en prétendant que leur père travaille actuellement sur un nouvel album du Sab :

Ozzy Osbourne’s absence from the Aug. 22 MusiCares premiere screening of his son Jack’s documentary ‘God Bless Ozzy Osbourne,’ as well as comments from Jack and his sister Kelly at the event, have further fueled rumors that their father is indeed currently working with a reunited Black Sabbath on a new record.

“My dad is… I don’t know if I’m allowed to tell you,” Kelly told Artisan News. “But he’s doing something that is very, very exciting. He’s just finished a tour. But he’s doing something very exciting. I’m not allowed to talk about it, though.” We get it it; it’s exciting. Jack was much more pragmatic, though, declaring “I can neither confirm nor deny who he is with or where he is.”

By now, you’re probably well aware of the big to-do last week, which flared up after Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi was quoted as saying that he, Ozzy, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward were working on new material and planning a tour. Just when we thought the gods of rock ‘n’ roll were smiling down on us and granting us this long-desired reunion, the rumors were quickly dismissed as speculation by Iommi.

However, his statement stopped short of an actual denial, and his manager also didn’t deny the band had been talking about working together. So, fan chatter continued to swell over the band’s “Are they or aren’t they?” status, and that’s likely to intensify as a result of these new developments.

Is this possible this Black Sabbath reunion becoming the worst kept secret in rock? Seems like it.

Tony Martin ne pense pas qu'il refera un jour partie du Sab a t-il déclaré au magazine finlandais Metal Shock :


Vocalist Tony Martin doesn’t believe he will ever return to Black Sabbath.

While the strong rumours persist that the original Sabbath line-up are currently in rehearsals for a new album and tour, there are some who’ve expressed an interest in seeing the Martin era revived.

But Blabbermouth report that, talking to Metal Shock Finland, Martin said of this: “Sabbath haven’t talked to me in 15 years. All of the albums that I was on was removed from sale completely by them and it would take unbelievable changes to get it all back together”.

Martin was on five Sabbath albums between 1987 and 1995.

Le récent article sur Ugly Kid Joe a eu pour conséquence la réflexion suivante de votre serviteur.

En effet, si l'on considère les déclarations de Shannon Larkin qui sentent bon l’enthousiasme et l’honnêteté à propos de la reformation d’Ugly Kid Joe, on peut noter que tous les artistes ne se comportent pas comme Black Sabbath en cherchant à maintenir un pseudo-mystère sur une reformation qui, dans les faits, n’en est plus un.

A ce sujet il est en conséquence assez drôle, quand on connaît la polémique liée aux révélations du Birmingham Mail et au vrai/faux démenti du guitariste Tony Iommi, de noter que certaines sources bien informées du côté du monde du spectacle nous confiaient encore il y a quelques heures en off "que Black Sabbath est un artiste qui coûte incroyablement cher si l’on veut le faire jouer prochainement". Donc dans les coulisses, on peut vraiment vous assurer qu'en ce moment ça s’agite !

Des négociations entre producteurs de spectacles et agents qui sont en tout cas une preuve de plus (mais en aviez-vous vraiment besoin ?) que Black Sabbath va très probablement tourner et passer par chez nous dans les prochains mois. Mais bon, comme ce qu’on vous raconte est 100% off et que personne n’est au courant vous gardez tout cela pour vous d’accord ?

Car c’est important que Tony Iommi soit pour l'instant le seul à garder le secret alors chuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.

En même temps, Le Black Sabbath qui est attendu est avec Ozzy. Les deux sont-ils prêt à bosser ensemble sur un album et une tournée.....

Ont-ils mis assez d'eau dans leurs vins.

Sans compter les deuxautres carctères.

Mais on sait, aussi depuis la tournée de Police, que le plaisir de reformer un groupe est superieur aux tensions et au pouvoir de l'argent.

Iommi semble effectivement désireux de retravailler avec Ozzy.


Tony Iommi procèdera à des séances de dédicaces de son autobiographie le lundi 17 octobre au HMV à Londres et le mardi 18 octobre au HMV de Birmingham :

Possible reformation. Selon Ozzy, si ça se fait, tant mieux, sinon, il continuera tranquillement sa carrière solo.

Ozzy Osbourne has said that plans for a reunion of the original Black Sabbath line-up are still in the early stages.

Talking to Billboard, the Prince Of Darkness said: “It’s in the very early stages, so we haven’t recorded anything yet. If it works out, it’ll work out. If it doesn’t, I’ll keep doing my thing”.

Retrouvailles : ils ont répété de vieux morceaux.

Guitarist Tony Iommi has told U.K.'s Terrorizer magazine that the four original members of BLACK SABBATH recently got together in a rehearsal room for the first time in years, adding, "[We] played some of the old stuff and to be together again was great. We're all on good terms and we're at a stage where we can play together again. It would be good if we could and I suppose it's the closest it's been to be able to do that. It could happen!"

"Nous n'avons rien annoncé de plus, car rien n'est définitif. Nous prenons notre temps, car ce genre de nouvelle à tendance à se répandre rapidement 'Oh, vous avez annoncé votre réunion, mais rien n'est arrivé!' donc je ne sais pas. On verra bien. Je pense que nous aimerions, mais il en faut un peu plus".

Ca pourrait être We Sold Our Soul For Rock 'n' Roll, une compilation qui est sortie le 1er décembre 1975.

Tony Iommi vient d'annoncer qu'avec tout le matériel qu'il a écrit, il y aurait de quoi composer un nouvel album du Sab.

Legendary BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has just released his memoir, "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath", in hardback via Perseus Books/DeCapo Press. The book is filled with funny and fascinating stories from throughout the rocker's career, but how did he remember all of them? Tony said it was easy.

"Well, I have trouble remembering last month," Iommi told VH1 Radio Network's Dave Basner. "I have trouble remembering last week, but past stuff I can remember. And funny enough, Ozzy [Osbourne, BLACK SABBATH singer] is the same, and we talk about stuff from 30 years ago and we can remember it as clear as a bell but we try to talk about stuff that happened last week — no idea. Even yesterday (laughs)."

When asked about Ozzy's statement from a few months ago where the singer revealed that he didn't think all four original members of BLACK SABBATH could "physically" take part in a reunion, Iommi said, "Who knows? I mean, somebody might keel over. It might be me. But we'll see. At least we're talking, everybody."

If SABBATH were to reunite and work on new music, does Tony have any material ready for a possible studio album? "I'm writing all the time," he told VH1 Radio Network. "I've got a lot of stuff. I've got a studio at home. I just go in and play for a bit, put something down. My engineer is good; he'll program up drums and whatever else. So I've got plenty of ideas for whatever thing I want to use them as, but usually I end up writing for that particular thing. I might have an idea for whoever it might be, whatever lineup or whatever I'm going to do, I might start off with that, but that thing might not end up like that. I'll change the riff as we go along, depending on the vocal."

Ozzy told Billboard.com last month that a reunion of the original BLACK SABBATH lineup was a "very, very strong possibility." He added, "It's in the very early stages, so we haven't recorded anything yet. If it works out, it'll work out. If it doesn't, I'll keep doing my thing."

The Birmingham Mail reported in August that the original SABBATH lineup — Ozzy, Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward — had begun rehearsing and writing music in secret for a new album. The Mail based its story around remarks made by Iommi, who later said the comments were off the record and taken out of context. Iommi's manager, however, did not deny that a reunion was underway.

Speculation about a reunion was fueled later that month when Ozzy skipped the Hollywood premiere of the documentary about his life, "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne". Both his son Jack and daughter Kelly hinted at the time that their dad was "doing something that is very, very exciting."

SABBATH did try to record a new album 12 years ago, the original lineup's first since 1978, but abandoned the attempt after just a couple of songs. The original lineup has not toured together since summer 2005 and last appeared together when they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2006.

Damian of Black-Sabbath.com has posted a video report on BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi's first U.S. book-signing event, which took place this past Tuesday, November 1 at Bookends in Ridgewood, New Jersey. The three-minute clip, which can be seen below, includes interviews with fans waiting in line as well as a short chat with Tony himself.

Iommi's memoir, "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath", was released in the United States on November 1 in hardback by Perseus Books/DeCapo Press.

Tony Iommi spoke to Gibson.com on November 1 and confirmed he still has riffs and songs ready for a new album. But will it be BLACK SABBATH album?

"I still have tons of stuff," Iommi said. "I'm almost bursting at the seams with ideas, all the time. It's just finding the time. I'm lucky in that regard. But having said that, who knows where it would come out?"

In "Iron Man", Iommi revealed he has at least six demos from recent years with Ozzy Osbourne singing. He now tells Gibson.com that they have not been heard outside his studio. "They are still kicking around," says Iommi. "I'll decide what I do. There are all these rumors flying around about a BLACK SABBATH reunion, but we'll have to see. If it was the original lineup, great. But we will have to see. Some riffs, I wouldn't use on a new BLACK SABBATH album, anyway. I'd have to change them. But I've still got loads of ideas."

Osbourne and Iommi last year amicably resolved their problems over the ownership of the BLACK SABBATH name and court proceedings in New York were discontinued.

Ozzy filed a lawsuit against Iommi in May 2009, claiming that Iommi illegally took sole ownership of the band's name in a filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Osbourne sued Iommi for a 50 percent interest in the "Black Sabbath" trademark, along with a portion of Iommi's profits from use of the name.

The Manhattan federal court suit also charged that Osbourne's "signature lead vocals" are largely responsible for the band's "extraordinary success," noting that its popularity plummeted during his absence from 1980 through 1996.

Lawyer Andrew DeVore argued that Osbourne signed away all his rights to the BLACK SABBATH trademark after he quit the band in 1979.

Osbourne's lawyer, Howard Shire, called that agreement a "red herring" that was "repudiated" when the singer rejoined in 1997 and took over "quality control" of the band's merchandise, tours and recordings.
